The 997.1 GT3 RS is going to $500K regardless.

So unless those deep pocketed competitors are looking at buying up multiples Snaveed style, them staying on the demand side of the line does jack prices up more than if he weren't in the picture, not to mention if some of those unfulfilled RS buyers then move to non-RS's. Demand isn't diminishing, likely going up as new demand comes in without old demand going out, and supply's reducing, so from my high school economics of supply constrained resources, the prices do have to go up till they reach a new supply/demand equilibrium?
Maybe you misread my post, otherwise I'm not sure what you don't follow. My first point was that Snaveed is not the only person responsible for increased sale prices. There are other buyers right behind him supporting demand and willing to pay top dollar. My second point was that if these cars are really leaving the country, then US supply will further decline, which will prevent prices from coming down and most likely lead to continued price increases. I think we agree on these points.

No, I think I read it right, we just have different perspectives on whether having a Snaveed bulk buyer with bottomless pockets drives up the prices or not, you say not, as there's others bidding against him. I say he is driving up prices based on the rationale given. Just different perspectives, with no parallel universe where Snaveed hates Porsches to prove for sure one way of the other.

I didn't say Snaveed doesn't drive up prices. Every single buyer does. What I said was that he in not the sole person responsible for the recent increases. There are other buyers out there willing to pay almost as much.

Unpopular Opinion: I want to see Snaveed get outbid by someone with a bigger bankroll. It may not be likely, but it’s not impossible.

To the earlier conversation about how a buyer like Snaveed can skew the marketplace... as was noted, clearly Snaveed isn't the only person interested in these cars that has the money to buy at these prices. But it is a bit of a case of one vs. many (several). Absent a Snaveed, these other parties that have money would be competing w/ each other to buy the sample or two they are looking for, then move along. Eventually they all get the car they are looking for and less financially 'capable' buyers will then be competing w/ one another and the prices will fall a bit (or at least flatten). In this scenario however, we have a single buyer, who has the appetite for many of these scarce cars, and is often willing to outbid whomever he is competing with. This skews things a bit since you end up w/ pent up demand that isn't getting satisfied. So, as we've seen, the prices just keep going up as there are fewer and fewer cars in the marketplace.

Remember 2006. Or October 1987. At some point people's a-holes will be puckering. Including Snaveed.

And as to what I think he's doing with them? He's exporting. Bet you dollars to donuts. If anyone has time, look up his earliest auctions and google the VINs to see if anything comes up.

Carfax should show export to the foreign country.

Pretty sure that last 2100 mile .1 RS marks the highest value GT3/RS successfully sold on BaT, and the first to eclipse $300k on the site.

funny how your perception of price can skew over a relatively short period of time. with 8k miles and what looks like extremely well kept condition, that price seems like a relative bargain. love the specs.

And I just want the most basic of basic 997.1 GT3s at a reasonable price.
