way back i was looking at a rs and asked the dealer (which was ~2000 miles from me) for some additional close up picture of driver's bucket seats since from their tiny pics on their website, they appeared pretty beat up. i wasn't expecting the response: "pictures on-line"

had a similar experience from a large dealer in FL....

Sadly I have to put my GT3 up for sale. I just bought brand new Bridgestone RE71r front tires, had the front motons fully serviced, and put in a brand new battery. Reason I'm selling is I have a baby daughter now and I have ZERO time to really drive this thing. I've NEVER tracked the car since owning it. 25k miles total on the car now. It had zero over revs in all ranges when I bought it and that should be same results now as I never got to push the car hard. Make me a reasonable offer.

Pics below:

Default 2010 997RS Grey/Blk

Gent's,

For any of you who are on the hunt for a 997RS I had a few great conversations with Alec at PMC Detroit on this car:

http://www.pmcdetroit.com/detail-201...-16171837.html

He has reached out to me three times and is a motivated seller. They are asking 159K for the car but I have a feeling this car could be had for close to 150K. It's not a pristine example as I have done the research on the car maybe a 7 out of ten. But maybe worth loving it up if it can be bought right..

If my memory is right:

Average DME
Heavy track use
5 previous owners

Car does look good outwardly though. I am looking for something a tad more pristine..

I called audi of Lexingtons car, they're completely clueless, they don't have a Porsche dealer in Lexington and when I asked for an independent shop for a dme readout he asked me ....why would I want all that......does anyone know the history of ownership of the car, I threw him a very lowball offer contingent I could get it inspected by someone

Great price if it checks out. But yes you should still go a ppi for sure.

I would start with asking them for a current car fax and any copies of repairs/maintenance. Did they give you a carfax?

Also you could call Porsche Louisville and see if they can help? Maybe it was serviced there if it is a KY car?

If the carfax and dme and ppi check out, that is a crazy low price.

Osu s2k,

Google search doesn't turn up much but it did bring up a hit that this white 997.1 was previously for sale by Texas Import Sales....yikes that was a pretty notoriously bad dealer...google them. I would be pretty suspect of the car just off that so make sure you do a throughout ppi and inspection.

I called on this car. Spoke to John. It has a terrible DME readout and over revs in every range. Even in range 5 and 6. Like hundreds in range 5. He said it was so bad he wouldn't list it on Rennlist.

Ah yeah, I remember that car now. It was for sale by a dealer on Long Island about 18 months ago. A buddy test drove it and said it needed a decent amount of work. I think that dealer sold it to PNH and I guess it's been with them ever since.

Did the same yesterday. Called this dealership and spoke to a salesman, Tony. Apparently the car was owned by the dealership owner. Other than that, he didn't have much to say about the car.

On a separate note, has anyone come across this car?

I just recently sold that car (with full disclosure). Very nice condition car, completely up-to-date on service, but it does have a backstory.

It looks pretty good from the pictures and relatively well optioned, I'm just curious if there's anything other than the mileage driving the price down because it seems kind of low.
