The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

Obvious would be the roll cage and harness.
Then you have brakes. Aftermarket rotors and pads can be easily spotted. Also if the build sheet says PCCB but the car has steels then it is another indication.
Peppering on the paint like quarter panel before and behind wheels.
These are a few examples for spotting exterior sign of track time other than DME report and PPI inspection.
Lol!

The conversation went down from there quickly, he ended with offering 125 for it after seeing dme and history

Lower rear hips, pitted windshield, rubber hits which make clear bra look fuzzy, penetrated clear bra, melted lower rear bumper, hard to get into third gear (tranny mount gone), rear toe links aftermarket, faded brake calipers
There are lots of clues

Replace all under trays, replace all fender liners and bolts, pull suspension off and run it through sonic cleaner, have Hayworth rebuild all brakes, new rotors and pads, under carriage detail, new clear bra, paint bumpers if needed... And remove all the track bits. And hope it has a clean DME. And minimal track pictures and videos on rennlist

Burning Brakes
There is no free lunch fellas.
Take risk, compromise or pay up.
The unicorn never runs through the forest despite what that other guy might have just said.
Ps - the term "sofa seats" is quite derogatory. I have them in my rs and fully expected to swap them out immediately. I love them. For a street driven car the bladders and lumbar are very comfortable. Much more comfortable than the similarly styled (sans bladders) seats in the .1 cars. They are also rare since it was no cost option that many didn't opt for. Don't let this bump or that stitch steer you away from a good car.

That is a really nice looking car and a great price for a PTS. You'll need to adjust the dive planes though, they've been installed completely wrong

Also that CF center console seems to be in bad shape?
edit: actually looks like some OEM parts were replaced. If you look at the build sheet and original pictures in the registry the center console is supposed to be painted in exterior color. The door pulls should be red not black. Finally the gear shifter and handbrake should not be in CF.

Those are small potatoes, and easily remedied. The CF console is cracking (typical) and finding a used one and painting it silver is a much cheaper alternative to replacing the CF. Door pulls, shifter and handbrake are really easy to replace too and you will actually come out ahead if you sell the CF bits.
$171K sticker. Funny, I'm not a fan of silver on a 997-2 GT3 but on this one I REALLY dig the color combo! Only wish the dials weren't white.
It reminds me a bit of a 4.0 I really like, rumor has it it was Matthias Muller's car:

This! Drive your cars folks. I have a collector car that I was trying to keep under 50k miles. My friend would always tell me how I never enjoyed it and was afraid to take it out etc. He was 10000% right. Who cares about miles, value, etc. If you are buying a car that you are so scared to drive, don't buy it. Now I drive that car and it puts a smile on my face every time.
Enjoy the car, these things are at home on the track. Have a blast with them. You never know when you might not have the opportunity to enjoy them...

A few notes on that GT Silver RS for sale in Denver. This car was bought from this place (http://www.lamacsautomaxx.com/2011-P...3/Details.aspx) by I assume the dealer in Denver. This car was once owned by "GT3DE" on RL after I did some search. It does have a new engine. Original thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...a-11-rs-2.html
The dealer in NY and CO are owned by the same family.
