I know this is a North American based thread but let's just take a moment to appreciate this Macadamia car

this is cheap if it checks out, especially with the buckets.

Seller seems to be selling a few other cars and has sold some imports in the past, like Audi RS4 wagon etc. Photos look like they were taken overseas, not in PA. Not a big deal.

Seems to be some sort of shift light and tuning device on the dash. Definitely looks like she has seen some action.

I asked him if he was interested in doing a part exchange on the buckets. No go.

Seems like a good price if it checks out. He’d be better off selling it without the buckets for sure

Macadamia Metallic was an optional color for the 997.2 GT3. However no one ordered it in North America. Have seen this particular car before and it’s the only Macadamia 997.2 GT3 I’ve ever seen.

Malachite and Porsche Racing Greens were available as well, but buyers didn’t order those either. Never seen a GT3 in either of these colors.

If the Macadamia car is a late 2009 build car then it can be imported into Canada I believe because of the 15-year rule.

pretty sure if I was looking for a driver I would already have a deposit on this car contingent on inspection/meter, it has the spec worth refreshing(assuming it’s a pccb) and the buckets cover some risk…

questions I’d want answers to… are the fenders original and just have flares attached (these are not OEM RS, looks like a CUP) so I’d be checking that the front bumper was OE. Rotors and calipers look aftermarket, so that’s a cost that prob needs factored in.

There’s no way this isn’t a scam, right? Seems too cheap and seller has no ratings. Given the harnesses, cup fenders, and cup bumper (which appears to fit poorly), my guess is that it may have been crashed at the track at some point. I’d still buy it if I had a spare $60k to blow…anyone want to buy my E46 M3 or 981 GTS? Lol

Just call the guy and find out. I didn’t notice the cup bumper so It probably needs ~$20k worth of work between reversing the front end mods and whatever else it needs mechanically if it’s not beat up too bad.

That said, if you don’t want a white or black car, it doesn’t seem like one can be found for less than $200k nowadays (which is crazy to me), and at least this one has buckets. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I even saw an aqua car for sale. I’d go see it in person. The last blue car that sold was that cobalt car that had 60k miles or so and went for $180k ish with no buckets? Someone here can correct me if i’m wrong.

that’s so odd … not a single one was ordered in these colors for the US? Were most of these cars dealer specced back in those days? I love the macadamia on the 997TT but this is the first I see it on a gt3.

Seller of the blue car is hard to talk to. Knows nothing about the mods. Likely previous track use(who cares) that had proper fitting front wheels. I was debating making a move from my RS to that car to have more of a guilt free driver but I always buy the seller and I don't feel good about that one.

Not a lot of Porsche’s were selling at this time even the GT cars. Good amount were dealer specced and many sat in showrooms as the cars weren’t pre-sold or buyers backed out. Dealers like to spec pretty safe colors that would statistically sell or stick to launch colors. White, black, gray, or silver. Guards Red would be safe as it’s always been a popular color. Remember I was at Michael Stead Porsche in Walnut Creek, CA in maybe late 2009 or 2010 and they had a brand new black 997.2 GT3 with PCCB’s that sat in the showroom for months. Think they might’ve discounted it off MSRP at some point to move it. Also other GT cars that sat at this same dealer unsold like these 2 white 997.2 2 RS’s. Probably sold for MSRP or maybe less. Not much demand for sports cars at this time.
