The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

I was going to say no way but then thought about that that white .1RS with little information on BAT just sold for a teeny bit over $200k so you're correct in that they can be had. Carter, you should have jumped on that one. Also love your R8 GT. I would buy it if I could afford it.

Pumpkins command a pretty large premium compared to the other colors(except Kermit’s that have a premium on top as well). I know of a bad carfax pumpkin that recently traded off market and that was above 200. Even the wholesale molested to death pumpkin that’s floating around is getting 190k+ bids at auction. I don’t think any sort of pumpkin is available below 200 these days unless it’s salvage with tons of miles.

Orange car looks like new. Steel brakes and plenty of leather inside. Aftermarket cage installed. Very clean. I believe it was for sale at McKenna sometime around 2019-2020, but can't find the ad.
Green car is in decent shape. Has been up for auction a few times (see link below). No PPF and it shows on the front bumper. Green stitching and green painted bits on the interior. Would recommend an inspection.

Not sure if it was the McKenna car as the original build specified a body colored front spoiler lip and mileage doesn’t quite match up to time periods of this other possible car. Maybe it’s this one in this thread getting some work done at BBi. If this was the car at McKenna then here is the info.

Remember when BBi posted that build thread. Guess the owner never got around to driving or tracking it as said in that thread? Can’t blame them too much as the increasing market since 2020 has changed people’s perceptions of these cars. Bought my white/gold .2 RS a few months before this thread was posted and didn’t have any expectations then of the market going up as it has. Planned to drive it more, but the depreciation per mile has increased substantially. Bought it with 1,900 miles for just under $200k and wasn’t a crazy amount more than one with 10k miles. Think the difference then was $20k tops now is probably $50k-$100k. So decided to splurge on a perfect one with basically no miles as most of the ones for sale at the time had stories. Met Ryan Friedman at Audrain motor week last week and said the car was worth about $500k! Not sure if it’s quite that much. Asked if it would be for sale, but said emphatically no. Most of the miles I put on (now has just a hair over 3k) was in the first year and a half of ownership. Though have more cars now to spread the driving I do and don’t drive in the winter since moving to New England.

When we’re all old men, no one is going to reminisce about how few miles they put on their Porsche. Driving these beautiful machines on a winding road is practically therapeutic and it’s a shame to let them sit.
Especially if your entry point on a RS was under $200k, you could probably add 100k miles and still sell it for more than you paid so why even fret over values?
When I was looking for my .2 I was specifically after a driver’s car. I found what’s pretty much my dream spec with one drawback…it only had 13k miles on it. I’ve started remedying that with two separate thousand mile plus road trips and have averaged over 1k miles per month since I got it. I figure I basically get free miles at this point to bring it up to at least a respectable number

The reasons we could afford it in the first place was because we mentally protect appreciating assets... this wasn't as one of them until somehow it was. Its hard to rewire...but I know we are all trying.
