Did you drive and see that rs you mention? I did. It sold for the right price.

I respectfully disagree with your assessment. You are characterizing the bottom 10-20% of the market only.

Btw - Don't just watch rennlist. Btw there was a .1 gt3 atlas grey friends car with 6k miles that sold for 114k in the last two weeks.

I respectfully disagree - I watch them all not just rennlist

My car was most definitely not the bottom market car you say

114k for a 6k mile is a stupid buy

Everyone has there own opinion, no one really knows. A lot of cars sell and the majority of the time the sales price is not disclosed. The market is a mystery, tracking any sales you just end up with a graph not an accurate prediction.

Do you think that 997.2 RS at 145 was a fair price?...if so, why aren't you driving it?
Assuming that the car was a clean no story example, does that transaction dictate the market and hence the next guy with a similar car needs to sell for same?...and if this guy is not selling for anything less than $200, and someone else steps up and pays the price, then wouldn't that transaction reset the market yet again?

I know a 997.2 GT3, Black with 5 k miles sold in CT for $135...this was mid December. What does that tell me about the next 997.1 with 10k miles?...absolutely nothing. The value is what someone will pay for it.

Often times we'll say someone else overpaid because admiting that we've undersold could be painful.

As stated, people that are looking will try to make the market look lower. People that are selling will make it look higher. In the end, every GT3 sells for what it's worth based on its color/condition. Without personally looking at every car sold, one cannot determine its true condition.
My GT3 has 36k miles. I would put it up against any GT3 with 16k miles. Most might not even consider it worth what I think it's worth but if they were to look at it, they would understand.

This market with the current conditions is a tad unpredictable. Since GT3/RS's are not cheap $20k-30k cars, they are bought and sold on a much different, non-regular basis. So each case/sale is much more unique to speak of. It all depends on if the buyer thinks it is worth the price.

Most RS's that command a premium and asking over $180k are examples with quite low miles (most with less than 5k miles), and are still considered collector cars. Most buyers at this price range buy with the intention of keeping them, and probably will consider selling if the price is too appealing. People who want to drive them usually are not as picky and don't mind higher mileage ones which don't command such a premium.

There are cars on the market for every type of potential buyer, the question is: is it worth the price for you? This is the main concept that people have to understand. To me personally spending $200k for a .2 RS seems crazy, I'm not that rich. Even if I could afford one somehow, I'd never be able to track it due to fear of wrecking it. Even though my Gt3 is not really cheap either I feel less guilty taking her to the canyons or to the track. To some paying $100k for a GT3 seems crazy. It's all relative to the person.

My car was on the higher end when I bought her two years ago (10k miles, clean for $115k), but I didn't find many listed for sale at that time and she was 5 mins away from my home. The options were nice as well, so I pulled the trigger. Could I have found a better deal if I waited? Sure. Do I regret any part of my decision? No.

Congrats on a nice find.
I know I'm happier with an RS in my garage than extra $150K or so in my bank account.
This price prediction thread is quite entertaining to read.
Looking at the appreciation of some air cooled 911 recently, there is absolutely no way for our GT3 or RS to not maintain a good value. The longer you wait, the more it will be worth. End of discussion.

Think you guys might be a tad optimistic
imo the only reason it took awhile to sell your car is because of radio delete . for a street car, that's a big no go for most. even for me and i dont use it much. physiological effect :/
other then that- clean car.

And honestly I probably wouldn't even take $200k for my unicorn PTS RS. Don't want or need to see the car, much rather enjoy driving it on weekend and seeing it every time I open the garage.

I'd never buy a car with Radio Delete unless it will specifically be a track car. I always use the radio when I'm on the street.
