B) weight, I'm not sure how they get this car down into the mid 1300s with a bigger engine, bigger brakes, more cooling up front, more durable suspension, cage etc.
AP talks about it in the Evo video. I think there's mucking around w/ options here. For example, the yellow car had Buckets and CCB.

I am committed to buying one. I have been looking forward to this car for some time now.. I will wait until someone does all the work though..

Meaning, Buyers will purchase, spend thousands on KIT, roll bar, WEVO's, exhaust etc.. Then they will get bored and I will be ready.. They will buy GT4RS and I will purchase lowly GT4 and drive the wheels off of it!

The wait will be tough... Real tough..... Gotta stay strong. Stop posting pictures!

So about that clubsport option mentioned in the catalog...

I also wish you could put kids seats in the bucket seats but the catalog says it's no-no... So boo to that.

AC delete, radio delete, manual trans, sub 3,000lb weight, black satin wheel option, GT3 bits sprinkled about. sounds like a win to me.

maybe what we need to petition Porsche for is a back-to-basics 911 GT4....

Seems funny people would say 997 Gt3's bubble gonna burst.

It's like, hey cool, Porsche listened and built a car with a manual gear box because performance is not everything. Too bad Gt3 owners are going to lose money because this car has the same performance. So is it about performance in one case but not the other?

Last time I checked, the 911 is Porsche's iconic car, not the cayman. That may play a slight role in desirability and future value. I'm talking long term here as any product range as diverse as Porsche's is bound to cannibalize sales of other models to a certain extent.

As good as the Cayman R was, I didn't hear all my car buddies saying they had to have one.

The GT4 will be awesome, but this says it best and I completely agree.

Add one yes. Take one in lieu of, not so much. It is no where near a replacement for a GT3 let alone RS.

Its a parts-bin car.

Take a street car and make it a race car= GT4

After getting my 997.1TT 6speeds, I was in the hunt for a 997.1 GT3 with a budget less than $90k for an extremely clean and low mileage, but this is a welcome news. I think I would add a GT4 in the garage next to my 997TT and C63. The hunt for GT3 is temporary cease.

""Take a race car and make it a street car= GT3"" That went out the window with the 991 GT3.

I don't think the GT4 is a 991 GT3 replacement if being the fastest STREET Porsche, other STREET cars are faster, on the track is your goal.

If you are Penurious like me and putting a $150k car on the track is more than you are willing to risk then maybe the GT4, if you want to keep the Porsche brand, is a better fit.

Hey Peter,

The way I drive even a 90k cayman is to much. that's why I bought your old 6.3. She is getting a new wing and some more aero bits in the front so I can stay on track...Might even wrap it so the paint doesn't get damaged. Oh to late.

I hate this. Good problem to have but I am now waffling between GT350 and GT4. Wish I could get both!

Wish they would have announced GT4 in 6 months or so when I already had GT350 ordered!!

That's why I just bought an '07 Cayman-S to build a DE car, and let all the dust settle before making any decisions.

penurious???? just sell a little of that real estate you got lol

The GT4 power/weight ratio is still not as good as a .2 GT3. The ring time comparison is due to the better tires I guess.
