Is it worth the extra $100 for the launch software? I have never used launch control, but I have done some autocrosses, and would like to do HPDE. I have a 997.2 C4S

Hi Tom!

If I install 997.2 GT3 shocks and springs on a 997.1 GT3 (I know that you tried this) - what DSC programming should I use? I have not bought a DSC yet (nor swapped the shocks and springs).

I just installed this on my 997.1 C2S and I can't seem to get the controller driver to work. It shows up in the device manager but with the exclamation point, not under ports. I've uninstalled and even tried multiple laptops. The cable I have says 2.0 but I ordered a new one in case. I don't have many mini USB cables anymore on hand. I heard in one of official videos there are old drivers but i can't seem to locate those. Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks in advance

Hi there. I had a DSC controller for my 2012 4GTS Cabrio and now will swap the unit into my 2010 GT3. Is that plug and play or is there any programming required?

Also, my GT3 doesn’t have dynamic engine mounts but I’m considering getting them retrofitted. Does the DSC controller work with dynamic engine mounts? (I read that the mounts communicate with the PASM system so I wasn’t sure if the DSC would make a difference there). Thanks!

All 997.2 generation cars take the same DSC controller. Its plug & play. I have must answered this question like 500x in this thread alone..
Copy and paste from DSC website:
02-997-06-v1-01* (for 997.1 non-turbo and 987.1) *Requires 3-axis accelerometer
02-997-06-v1-02 (for 997.2, all year 997 Turbo, GT2, and 987.2)

No. In the 997 generation cars the dynamic engine mounts are controlled by the ECU, not by the suspension controller.

If I bought a DSC V1 in 2016 for my 997.2 GT3 RS, do I need to do an update?

Pardon my lack of knowledge but been trying to find this everywhere:
I am looking for a DSC Sport Controller for my 997 Turbo and found a couple on classifieds but I am wondering a few things:
1. Is there any difference between the white case units and the gold/yellow ones I am used to seeing everywhere?
2. Are they locked to a single car or can I install one that was used on a car previously without a worry?

1.as I recall, but is worth confirming, I believe the 997 TT requires a v1 unit, I believe that the v1 and v2 & 3 units differ in shape, BUT VALIDATE THIS ... best way to determine this is to connect the unit to a laptop and using the application connect to the DSC and interrogate its version...

2. they are not locked to a specific car

I should've mentioned it came off a different 997 Turbo, should work as it is a V1 2 mode which matches what I need in that regard, was more wondering if the white case is just cosmetic change in the production or indicates other technical differences.

2. Thanks!

then you are good to go - I recall they changed the casing cover at some point from white to gold ... but if it worked on another 997TT then it should work on yours ... can't recall if there was a f/w upgrade for the v1's or not @TPC Racing ?

The original ones were a 3 mode that needed a firmware update (at TPC) to become the standard 2-mode that we have now.
