Mods please delete thread, a satisfactory compromise was found for all parties involved. Thanks to all Rennlisters who showed support and gave me tips, it definitely helped.

I think they are f-ing you and IF the car needed a full rebuild I would do choice 1. But I would be willing to pay an Indy to check it out.

However, their reasoning is bull****. Have you taken this car to a race shop or indy that knows that they are doing and had a compression, scope, leak down, and oil analysis on it? those 4 things will tell you a lot.

Put the rear seal leak aside... that's a minor annoyance. My guess is the monkeys at that dealership are installing the part wrong or not using the seal that doesn't leak.

With so many issues with the car, I personally will let it go even if I took some loss.

Opt for one and try to negotiate as little damage as possible.

Fondness can lead you to lots of pain/sufferings down the road as you are finding out, aren't you?

I found Pfaff to be snakes in my dealings with doing a lease assumption from them. So I am not surprised with your problem there.

In regards to your oil problem, these car will leak oil from time to time especially if you do not use it often. Are you sure it is not just a small RMS leak?
Did the Quebec dealer perform an actual leak down test? How did they determine loss of vacuum and compression??

I would contact PCNA and let them know your mileage, use, current DME and let them know you have suffered a RMS leak as early as documented on your service records with no recourse.

I would most certainly keep the car and the CPO warranty.

When does the CPO expire?

Something wrong here, a CPO on a 2007 should be expired should it not?
My CPO'd 2007 GT3 expired in Dec. 2013....

not sure if it's too far along at this point, but the only dealership in Ontario I trust and support is Porsche of London, might be worth calling them and seeing if they can be of any help
Great guys-they don't BS around....I'm up there often enough, and they know me well, if I can be of any help...
Regards,
Rob

Why are you not talking to an attorney?

Step 1: Verify with an indy if the motor is low on compression. If it isn't, live with the leak and move on or have them fix the leak again.

If you are low on compression, you should be able to feel it. Is it burning oil?

Also, I'd probably not take the car back to a dealership that I had a rocky relationship with. There will be no love for your car there. The porters will take it out for a thrashing before and after the fix.

CPO, can start fresh on any car as long as it's 8 years within in service date.

sorry to hear of your troubles.

fwiw, if it's just an RMS leak, I'd keep the car. If I were buying a car I really wanted from someone and it had a slight RMS leak, it wouldn't deter me in any way. The compression loss on the other hand....that's unacceptable if true and I'd fight to have it put right. Surprising to hear about Pfaff, considering they've been around so long.

I'd get a second opinion and if the engine is truly in need of a rebuild, then the CPO should take care of it.

An X-pipe on my GT3 was never cause for my dealer to refuse me a RMS repair under the CPO warranty.

IMO...its probably getting near the time to "lawyer up" if the dealer/CPO doesn't come through.

have you contacted the office de la protection de le consommateur?
http://www.opc.gouv.qc.ca/en/contact/consumer/
Dealers don't like to have their names registered for complaints - I suspect there is an equal body in Ontario you can register a complaint with.
talk to you lawyer first...

I also plan to contact them and their automotive provincial equivalents.
