Maybe I acted too quickly. Emotions... As I recall there were a few RSs on the market during that period. I could've chosen better.

could be quite possible a FMS leak which could mean a required crankcase replacement.
This is not uncommon as the early crankcase molds were porus and would cause problems.

The two RS porsches that I have owned both had replacement crankcases under warranty.....

With CPO you shouldnt have to pay a dime.

I would be curious on exactly what has failed and why. I would not drive or run it either so Porsche cannot blame you that you ran the car after you new there was an issue.

Years ago i dealt with Porsche Canada for a warranty issue on a Targa roof, it took over a year of arguing to get them to replace it (for a value over $22k) The the way i got the decision done was to write a registered letter to the president if PCNA, cite the facts, include printout of the discussions on the forums, and suggest that its sends a great positive message to porsche owners that porsche will honor their warranties. porsche Canada was useless and i needed to talk to the top. Peter Schwarzenbauer did the right thing and fixed it in a few weeks.

Cheers

Mike

Do you have pointers to this? I haven't seen/heard of this issue before.

unfortunately i wasnt the owner who experienced the issue.... I purchased the cars right after the replacement was performed.

The first car serivce records stated FMS leak that was getting worse thus deemed to by pourus crankcase. 19k miles

The second RS service record stated a really bad sound coming from the crankcase.... 12k miles.

Wow I'm gonna make sure it'S not the FMS leak or else a cylinder rebuild will not change anything!

Oh they also offered me $2k less than what was offered over the phone on Friday... Just great. And they gave me an ultimatum of 10 days to give them an answer. Yep, that's GREAT customer service...
Bring the car to them and get PCNA involved.

That's where it's going. I asked a bunch of questions but no reply yet. We'll see.

Just noticed I'd put in 2007 as my purchase year. I bought the car October 2013, not 2007... Sorry for the mistake

sORRY tO HEAR ABOUT YOUR SITUATION.

SOUND ADVICE BEING OFFERED

I happened to be in Pfaaf in January looking at a 2007 Gt3 Iris blue Carbon seats Cage etc
Told car has a Fulll CPO - VIN # 793002

The Oil Pressure spring valve was defective and in a ‘stuck open’ position. Unfortunately it’s within a sealed part of the engine, meaning the engine needed removal to resolve the issue. fyi.

I Doubt I will Buy from Them Now.

Think I will stay with my 993
