Who are you dealing with at Pfaff ? I had a helluva time dealing with my service advisor on getting my 997.1 engine replaced due to a scored cylinder. I'm almost positive they sold the car with a scored cylinder. It was under CPO. They tried to deny me because I did an oil change with my own mechanic. WTF right ?

Long story short, the manager, Mike, worked with me and got it taken care of.

Default PFAFF 07 GT3

I stopped in to look at the car and Found the car with the Engine OUT. I was advised the Dealers Mechanics had Pulled the Motor from the Car and apparently was doing the Repair.

The Half ? cage was in the Car when I saw it.

I have an email from sales Rep. on the Repairs being done.

I am told the car has been Traded In and the Motor Problem ocurred while car was in Pfaff's posession on their lot.

Also if there's a cage it's not supposed to get CPO apparently, based on what the dolt from Porsche Canada told me...

If the cage is the factory clubsport cage and only used for "appearance" then PCNA would have a hard time arguing the warranty claim....

they should cover diagnose 100%.
And they all know the X-pipe has nothing to do with it.
They run cup cars with no mufflers for god sakes.

cant wait to see what they find....
Id say they will only toss another RMS in the car and hope it lasts until your CPO runs out.

when is your CPO up?

If it's a CPO work/claim, it's all covered !!! I didn't pay a cent for my engine replacement or even any CPO work previously.

But any diagnostic work, if there are no found problems is billed back to you as far as I know. That's what DT porsche told me.

Who are you working with over there ?

Porsche Canada refuses to cover the repair under CPO as they should and are trying to stick me with the bill in the process.

They refuse to do the work not because of something I did to the car but because they say it should not have been CPO'd in the first place by Pfaff. According to Porsche Canada since the car had at some point an aftermarket X-pipe, it should not have been certified and therefore declare my warranty null and void. The funny thing is Pfaff tried to sell me the car with the X-pipe installed and I asked (and even paid) to get a stock exhaust put back on. Also at some point the ECU may have been tampered with as the TPMS monitor option was never present on my car during my ownership. According to my local dealer that tampering was actually done at Pfaff not long before the car was sold to me. (cheaper than getting 4 new TPMS sensors I guess...)

Pfaff, given the volume of CPO'd cars it sells every year, should've (and must've) been aware that these issues might pop up and cause problems down the road. They chose not to disclose that information to me and send me on my merry way with a sham warranty.
I would have PCNA on the phone and ask them what is the deal and I would also get them involved in the engine rebuild as I doubt anybody currently working on the engine has any business working on that engine.

Let them know that you suspect crankcase failure due to porus crankcase mold... (due to sounds, smoke and oil)

I had both my RS porsches get a replacement crankcase from porsche under warranty and they run fantastic to this day.
bout a $20k job at the time...

I would push for what you require.

Diagnostic covered.
Repair covered.

Apology for putting you through this experience on a car that you paid a premium for CPO.

As a lawyer i would name both PCNA and PFAFF in legal letter...

In terms of engine rebuild I would push them to disclose what is wrong with the engine, what cause it as it cannot be linked to exhaust pipe.
How is your DME?
I would also throw around the idea of the porus crankcase issue that Porsche had with these cars.

I would have sharkwerks build me a 3.9L before i would have a dealer rebuild me a 3.6L, unless it is warranty.

Don't sell the car back to the jokers at Pfaff, they will band-aid fix the car, throw anther CPO on it, then sell at the currently crazy prices to another poor sap.

Collect damages, and send to Sharky for a 3.9 and love life again.

Good luck.
