I do feel the 997 even the 380mm fronts (my car was PCCB car so has proper spacing on upright, but I have red calipers to confuse people lol) like I have is front bias heavy, and I use a different rotor in the rear (Brembo type 3) , with slightly more bite to help. And it did. Fronts I use type5. Very happy with this setup.

Got a few hours to spare on Sunday afternoon before having to plan and pack to display at the 2016 PRI(Performance Racing Industry) Show at Indianapolis so let's do this.
After removing the old parts immediately there's a slight problem, the adapter doesn't seat flush on the GT3 upright(aka wheel carrier) like it does on a Turbo upright. Well this was unexpected!
The GT3 upright is a "boxed" design, the Turbo and Carrera uprights aren't. The step at the end of the adapter interferes with the boxed design.
I drove the car in to do this and have to on drive before dinner time so no point in staring at the problem as daylight is burning. Accept the problem and machine the adapters.
Another slight problem- The upper square pad and other areas on the upright is 0.007 inch taller than the caliper contact pad. 0.007 inch is not much, I could've torque down the adapter and would likely hold in place since the interference is barely over the allowable tolerance of some aluminum engine cylinder heads but my OCD'ness won't allow this. Solution- Pneumatic sander to the black marked areas.
For reference, the original 350mm caliper mounting doesn't overlap these areas.
After pneumatic sanding and checking with machinist straight edge.
Adapter fitted and tested the centering of rotor to caliper.
Smooth sailing from here. Which was what I thought 5 hours ago. LOL
I'd never have used the word sexy to describe brakes but now I have second thoughts on that. I am very happy with the fit. Time to go home for dinner and pack for PRI.

I seriously thought about it but for one, I don't have the budget, second, I'm running stock ride height front and slightly lower rear. Not low enough to take advantage of the Cup parts that with 20mm+ raised spindle and pick up points.

Thanks. Very nice pics. The AP/Essex rotors look racy regardless of size. Now you know for future reference when considering 380mm upgrade using OEM adapters will require machining.

I agree the 380mm front/350mm rear brake combo on a 997 without dual mc setup is still a little more front biased. I know quite a few people running more aggressive rear brake pad compound to get better braking balance. In my case, the DSC/Tractive DDA suspension is working to my advantage by adding damper compression to the front and rebound to rear during braking to get the rear brakes working more effectively than with steady-state damping by the means of reducing front dive and rear lift- weight transfer management. This system works so fast that the damping force is ramped up as brake line pressure raises(via CAN bus data) before the chassis even pitches from the result of braking torque. Just as you are very happy with your approach, I am ecstatic with my approach.

It has been getting more and more challenging to find time to work on my own car with the success of our many products including DSC and Tractive. Working 10+ hours a day, 6 sometimes 7 days. Here a project I've been wanting to do this since last Fall, finally pulled myself together to get some of it done. Feeling a little cranky 'cause I'm tired and haven't had dinner but must take advantage of this momentum. First person to guess right on what I'm making gets bragging rights.
