Delta flies the stretch 80 from FL to SFO direct? Man that is a long flight in one of those... So glad AA is phasing them out for the 737, had a short hop on one last week. UGH. I do miss the 757 and 767 for cross country trips, those are pretty much gone except from maybe JFK to LAX.

Everything Delta goes via ATL.

Virgin and Jet Blue go non stop form FLL but PBI is 10 mins from home VS 45 minutes to FLL and from parking to boarding another 5 mins..

I'll die a happy man if I never fly through Atlanta ever again.

It's not that bad. It helps that it's a straight train ride to the next terminal when you're drunk.

I live here and go as rarely as possible. Sometimes able to make it longer than 12 months without having to endure the place.

I just always seem to have really bad experiences there. It also soured me on Delta. Worst was five or six years ago when they grounded their entire DC-80 fleet to make a change to a wire bundle, displacing thousands (including me) in Atlanta. By the time I found out all the hotels were booked around the airport, so I had to book a Marriott downtown, I should have taken a cab but I took the train instead. Get downtown at about 1AM only to be chased by two homeless guys for a couple of blocks (literally running into the hotel).

Turnaround to get back to the airport for a 7AM flight only for that to be cancelled, too. It just cascaded, every flight they booked me on was delayed or cancelled. They put me on different airlines but kept sending me back and forth to different terminals for boarding passes/validations, and the train between terminals was of course broken down. They finally got me on a flight to Charlotte only for my connection to DC to be cancelled, too.

It was a long two days...almost as long as this post.

And that doesn't touch how congested their rental car area can get :-) It once took me 45 minutes from the time I sat in my car to actually exit National.

Ok, that's pretty bad.

Lol you run from homeless people?

But yeah, we all been there, got stuck, done that. Half the time I mis the plane cause I forget the time in the free drinking lounge..

We all need our own G VI...
If it was within reach, I'd work harder and play less. Since it isn't; it's Mancation track time!!!

I was there 2 weeks ago as I had clients to visit in ATL. I hadn't been for quite some time, and yeah, ATL is as bad as I remember it. The city I don't mind so much... but the airport...

I guess I could have belted them with my carry-on :-) I figure my legs are faster than my fists are hard.

Yes understood. I'd be scared but I'd damage my body a lot more by trying to run than some hopeless guy can ;-)

I gotto to them all Farmer..
Next trip I do 4 days LS and 3 days Sonoma.
I figure I get the desert tracks out of the way, than stay near the water and go wine snobbing with wifey between the two tracks.
