Cf 4.0 plenum and cup airbox insert

Super jealous!! Hopefully autosea calls me back so I can pay for mine!
Performance should be a touch better as CF doesn't transmit engine heat near as fast as cast aluminum. It's up to the tuner now to take advantage of it!!

PJ what did you your 4.0L build put down to the wheels initially?
You've pursued excellent work and I truly compliment you on this.
Persistence on an engine build takes a lot of testicular fortitude.
Cross-country I can feel your desire to strive for more.

if I recall correctly, 418 wheel with 3.6 plenum and no tune
Builder/tech is thinking it will end up in the 430-440 whp range
Which is great considering the build budget... Stock crank, stock cams, etc
Just a bore to 4.0
I could be off on the 418 as my focus has not been on the intermediate dyno stuff.... Just final result... This is all off the grid at my house so to speak and have 3 kids ages 6, 4 and 1 so I am basically along for the build ride and where it ends up it ends up...
Cams maybe down the road

Regarding the kids I also hear that.
Right now tonight my 19 and 17 y/o sons are out back having a great time by the pool and ocean with friends. They have zero idea that their father at the age of 19 was a trained killer in SE Asia (1969-71), whom no one knew what was going on.
I honor and respect your strive for excellence and development. You sir enhance our Porsche motorsport experience.

Dyno results
Dyno disclaimer: all dynos are different, engine dynos are superior, one can make a dyno read whatever you want it to read, blah blah blah. My car has been dyno'd on this dyno by my technician several times since I have owned it... I trust him to not monkey around with dyno results... It is simply a tool to measure changes after mods and not a bench racing exercise
Dyno jet dyno
Numbers posted are wheel hp
Brief review - car is a bore only 4.0 with stock cams etc... Mahle pistons sourced from wrightwood... It has headers/exhaust made by my technician and is on a bone stock tune (soon to be changed), head work done by BBI
Dyno chart 1 shows my baseline 4.0 with 3.6 plenum and modified K&N intake AND the after which includes the aforementioned CF 4.0 plenum and cup dual cone intake - from 407 to 434
Dyno chart 2 is my baseline stock car at 3.6 and stock to where it is today without a tune - from appx 360 to 435
These are better numbers than I expected pre tune and lead me to believe that 450 wheel hp might be possible, again on this dyno.. maybe not all dynos, etc... Can you tell I don't want this to devolve into a "merits of a dyno or this dyno or you can mess with tire pressures or atmospheric pressures or temps, etc" discussion? :-)
Tech said car was heat soaked and it could do a bit better but both he and I are pleased. He said "it badly needs a tune".... That will happen in the next month or so... It will be tuned at blitzkrieg motorwerks on a Dynapak (sp?) dyno (will post) and then once completed back on this dyno jet to record final numbers (also will post)
Then I sit back thinking this project is complete and wait to see how Jamie's cams may help... After this upcoming track season is over :-)
