Default Cf 4.0 plenum and cup airbox insert

Just some car parts **** to share

Built up my 3.6 RS to a 4.0 last year (bore only)
In the process discovered that the plenum evolution from 3.6 to 3.8 to 4.0RS was significantly improved (3.6 left, 3.8 middle, 4.0 right)

So easy... Just order 4.0 parts and go... Not so fast... You need a 4.0 VIN to order parts I was told.... Gt3rs registry, select all USA vin, right click, copy, paste :-)

Then all 4.0 plenum parts not available and back ordered due to factory recall...

So I could tell this would be an issue - so button up my engine using 3.6 plenum and run it all last year without issue

Still want 4.0 plenum - tech enlists help of local cf expert whom is also a Porsche enthusiast with a plan for plenum and I provided a $200 cup airbox saying I wanted dual cone filters - I want more air flow

And here is the finished product:

Test fit

Parts on my engine after holidays and off to shop for a tune and project 4.0 is done :-)

I imagine a 3.6 or 3.8 could also benefit from these parts in conjunction with proper exhaust/headers and tune

Plenum was handmade to be exact replica of 4.0 plenum by autosea racing

Excited to get the car tuned and see where it ends up

christ almighty!

How is the bore increase working out so far?

Will be curious to see what gains are noticed on dyno with the plenum.

Would love to breathe some new life into my RS.

Please can you post part numbers for the cup airbox and 4.0 intake? What is the cost too?

Did it lime up and slot in just like the oem airbox?

Cup airbox I bought from Eddie at RPW - don't know the number
It does NOT just bolt in and does not line up with .1rs deck lid

Not hard to make it work but not a pure bolt in I don't think...

PJ excellent looking intake plenum. I knew Jamie and you were hot on getting this item built.
Major congrats on seeing this through.
Will you be using the OEM 4.0 injectors?

This setup is definitely not pure bolt in, and we're yet to test how much bang for the buck we get out of it. On paper we should see gains with the plenum over the stock 3.6L plenum for sure, the intake we're not sure, it's modeled after the 4.0RS CF intake, but on a budget using the plastic cup intake and a custom piece from Autosea. Like PJ said, neither of us know pricing at this point, so hopefully we don't end up getting taken for a ride!

Ranger, both of us are on stock injectors. 3.6L RS injectors are the same as in the Turbo S which are good up to about 600HP, so I think we're OK. The spray pattern is different understood, but I don't think so different... If I do different injectors I'll likely do Injector Dynamics 750's...

Champion Motorsport has demonstrated in my car a 15 rwhp gain with the OEM 4.0 plenums.
They flow more air and it's actually lighter than the 3.6 plenum.
If I hadn't obtain a 4.0 plenum I would be in line for the one you have.
Again, sweet looking piece.
