Heat not an issue as it relates to the cf according to builder and he has made other versions that have been in use for years
It was my first question

I assume that 15rwhp is one your built motor. But will putting the OEM 4.0 plenum on an otherwise stock 3.6L motor have any gains (along with full exhaust and tune)?

I too am interested to at least hear theories on if something like this would help a stock displacement car.
I'm no expert but at some point there's a fine balance between volume and keeping flow velocity correct? - again that might sound like a stupid statement so I'd like to here opinions on it.
I know with my 996 vs. you 997 guys my heads are the big constraint...I've opened up the exhaust flow and considered the larger 997 throttle body but I worry all of that increased flow won't result in much due to my 996 heads being the restriction.

So I'd say if you haven't at lease gone to headers without cats to help increase the exhaust side speed there isn't any reason to increase the intake side, there wouldn't be anywhere for the extra air to go in the cylinder.
If you've got the headers, exhaust and headwork, then this might help. It will change the power band slightly as the 3.6L has longer "runner" that are smaller in diameter...
Yeah, PJ took the pics on my engine...
See above, the 15rwhp was on Ranger's 4.2 and the stock 3.6L plenum was definitely a restriction with the exhaust work and cams they had in that beast!

very nice! work of art. can't wait to see the power gained after your tune.
