To liven things up a bit perhaps we need a new 2013 Oil thread.
I have used Mobil1 for over 15 years but recently have heard some negative comments regarding the brand and quality of oil compared to some other lesser known manufacturers.
I use Motul 5/40 Specific Synthetic in my direct injected Audi RS4 with great results and was thinking of jumping ship for the 996GT3 track car and 7RS.
Looking for insight and what everyone's still running with the amount of new synthetics on the market.

Only one intake manifold off manual cleaning of deposits when I purchased the car.
Ever since then i have used Motul and the RS4 pulls hard with a sharp increase/surge in hp at 4800 RPM, which is a good indication there are little to no deposits on the backside of the intake and exhaust valves.
A very common problem with Audis direct injected 4.2l V8.
Not scientific whatsoever but my experience so far after 20k miles and four oil changes.

I'll play. Which motul? 300v or 8100 both come in 5w-40
I ran 8100 last year with no complaints in my car which is more street than track. Thought about 300v this year but still have 10L of 8100 in the garage waiting.
I have no data to say it's any better. I run M1 0-40 "water" in my 220k mile 1.8T that I pound on daily still.

Not trying to start any chit and am well aware of all the oil threads out there including the one a few posts down. I have read the majority of them some of which are several years old now.
Just trying to liven things up a bit and get some insight and thoughts. I have run 8100 x-cess in the Audi.
