Now that the 991 GT3 is here, will the value of the 997 GT3 go down ?

Eurozone auto sales are cratering, including the all mighty German market. Don't be surprised to see the U.S. 991 GT3 allocation get bumped up.
With a whole new crop of buyers attracted to the bling, bling automatic I don't expect the 991 GT3 to hold value in the used market as well as the 997 GT3.
Add to the above normal debugging of a new platform - new engine, RWS, etc. - plus lack of decent seats and I'm more than happy to sit on the sidelines for now.

to counter.... Los Angeles area dealer manager I talked to last week said he had 9 pre-orders. he expected to get their allocations in a few months, and he expected everyone with a pre-order to get a car. They aren't by any sense the highest volume dealer here, so I expect others have more orders.

No doubt Chris Harris will have a mouthful of good to say as well. He'll temper it because it's an automatic but everthing else will be extremely exciting for him because it's a progression of a car he loved so much he basically leveraged himself to the hilt just to own.
Total911 has a couple page spread on the 991 GT3.

me too...just came back from a test ride in the new boxster s..the real strengh of the car is the chassis..its way better than a 997 (even GT) chassis. But PdK become so boring after 10 minutes...the real weakness of the car is the "weak power"..was disappointed by that ..but this is 997 GT thread..sorry for hijacking it.

looking to buy box or cay, no option, maybe lighten them a bit, plenty fast on street. for the money in not sure why ppl buy non gt 991
I'll pay same money on a boxster as a 991 even with less hp

Was checking out the new Cayman S at the dealer yesterday while my torque solutions transmission mounts were being installed in the RS. It's a really nice looking car, and right sized IMHO. Even the dealer commented that the new Cayman is the old 911, more sporty and more of an enthusiasts car versus the new 911. His words not mine. They are getting a lot of cross shoppers from Jag and Maserati types. If they come out with a new Cayman R I just might be tempted.
