Lightbulb 991 GT3 - Dealer Sales Pitch

Owners here got calls from the local dealer today on the GT3. First hand info from the sales guys:
  • 3.8L Integrated Dry Sump
  • 450bhp
  • 0-100kmh in 3.5s
  • PDK only
  • Ring lap time of 7:34
  • Rear Steering [!]
  • "Different" Side Mirrors
  • Public release at the Geneva Show, along with official price list
  • First cars will be MY14 with deliveries in Europe by year end
  • Taking deposits NOW

I don't like the sound of an "integrated" sump, wet or dry, but let's hope this will be a worthy variation of the 9A1...

if the above is correct, it's a disappointment ..

integrated dry sump is what is in the current C2 and C2S

with X51, C2S develops 430hp ..

Any news on the deviated stitching options and "race" decals colors?

Did he say if it came with the new and improved, replace every 5000km CL hubs?

So the pdk gave a 0.5 sec faster 0-100 and a NBR lap time 1 sec slower than a dinosaur, manual shifted 997.2 3RS??? I hope he got heaps of details wrong coz that is a disappointment if ever I've seen one!

Integrated dry sump on the 9A1 engine works great. No issues at Daytona or other tracks plus this engine in stock form won the Rolex Conti series last year.

However if Porsche continues with the center lock junk I will not buy a GT3. I dont believe as good as Porsche marketing is that they can spin any goodness to the public about the current center locks! I will keep my GTS and convert to 5 lug hubs and add the few suspension mods I want.

I can definitely see why lots of people will be disappointed if the above specs are true along with the recent photo's that look like a let down in styling.

We will all know in a few months.

I imagine it's PDK only just for the 1st half of the year. Only 5 seconds faster the a 991 S at the Ring, probably due to wider track and Cup tires.

Spec is a let down and I bet you won't be able to get one for less than $150K here in US...
