If we go drop cloth route can we leave seats and roll bar in place? The less we monkey with the better. I'm at sun coast right now pulling parts.
My body shop will make me a headliner. It won't be alcantara but I don't care.

Northvan can answer better than me but I think all of the seats and cage come out...
I could be wrong... but IIRC the front and rear glass, seats, and cage out

Sorry, at hockey practice this morning.
Everything should come out (including front and rear windows). We tried to cut corners, and left the carpet in, and covered it with blankets. The second spot weld generated a big enough spark that burned through the blanket and damaged the carpet behind the drivers seat. $150 for a used one and we are as good as new. If your shop is OK doing it with the seats in, then good for you, but I doubt the headliner will come out with the roll bar still in.

Eeek. This is a big job for such a cheap part.
I can have a headliner done for $200. Roof panel about $500. Dome and padding about $100.
20 hours of labor? Ouch....
So is this confirmed that its 45 pounds less after installing stock non sunroof panel back in?

Stop being cheap, and do it right. You don't have a civic ... a porsche with fiat roof liner ... yeah, who needs a roof liner, just grab Chewie's old blanket and glue it in ...

you will be surprised at how much all those motors, tracks, and cables weigh. The real surprise was how heavy the sunroof itself weighed, it must have been 20lbs+. The replacement roof skin from Porsche weights very little, I thought about a carbon roof, but the weight savings wasn't enough for me to go to that extreme. As for my numbers, I used Gomez's weight loss thread as a reference.
