So a lighter / more HP fiat beats a heavier / lower HP beetle

YAWN

As stated before.....I want to see your Fiat run every session our beetles do. No I overspelt excuses.

If your fiat was abused like Peter and I aero beetle it woudl have rattled to pieces by now.......or lit on fire

Maybe I should bring marshmellows next year.....I like S'mores. Wonder if it the owners lighting them on fire after they realize they used up their rear brake pads after six 30 minute track sessions

I think id rather stay home and drive Sebring on my xbox.....same difference

Did you fix the loose brake wire yet?

This one Chris (Blue GT3 RS 3.8) is recording video in the iphone, he had to film from the rear window given the gap we put on the other car.

The other car was a GT3 RS 3.8, driven by Eddie. He should have kept the GT2, we put something like 7 cars on him in just 1/8 of a mile, despite of my 175 lbs ballast (getting my car on the 3,500 lbs range) and my 397 rwhp.

I was thinking that one guy gets in the car and pumps up the brake pedal and the other guy loosens the nut on the caliber and lets some fluid/air out (with paper towels on the floor to catch all the fluid, lol). After we have bs'ed around for 15 minutes coming up with our plan Randy rolls by and wonders what us idiots are scheming. The Greek tells Randy the problem and Randy takes over. In a whirlwind flash Randy has some pump thing hooked up to the reservoir and a special catch tube/bottle on the caliber and then in less than 2 minutes he is done (a lot of air came out!). I looked at The Greek and shrugged.

Randy is the RS man!
I was there watching Nick turn tools feverishly while an exxon valdez size puddle of brake fluid was accumulating under the caliper as he was trying to install the lost pick. I happened to be the one who brought Nick his replacement puck after the initial shop lost it.

Problem One. Going to the first shop. Nuff said on that.

Problem Two. Letting Nick doing anything remotely mechanical other than wiring. Although even that has proven to be questionable as of late

Problem Three. Not asking Randy first. Short of engine pull, there's not much he can't do at the track and he likes doing it. He has every tool you could want at the track, to include a mityvac (pump thing), pad spreader, etc... Randy has made me feel stupid on more than a couple occasions while doing small track repairs (to include the removal of a stuck lug nut) with his engineering mindset

In honor of Randy and his tools, I present this gem from the past...

The race would have been closer vs a GT2, unfortunately paddles shifters are clearly faster. Against a Turbo S, you'd be filming thru the front window.
Same result if you were racing a GT2 for 3/4 of a mile, maybe less.

Good quality engineering comes from Germany.......unfortunately useless engineering (like deviated stitching) has leaked from Italy to Germany

Useless? I think not. Some of us expect a vehicle that cost more than my first home to look slightly nicer than a Toyota camry on the inside.

I would have crushed the Turbo S on the autocross and the track, and the challenge included lap time at Sebring, 2 different autocrosses and drag racing.

My FIAT beats any bone stock 997 GT2 on the 1/4 mile, with ease, it doesn't suffer from heat soak either, and it does it with 397 rwhp and 3,332 lbs .
