I did a search but nothing recent on these tires. Time to replace my street tires and think this is the way I want to go. I have a dedicated set of track wheels/tires but wondering what people think about using these on street and occasional track?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I bought a set 3 months ago. I like them in the rain, they are decent in dry conditions, very quiet. The RE-11 has more grip in dry conditions and I prefer them. PSS have a good price too.
The PSS is better than the PS2. PSS is the standard tire in the $500k Ferrari 599 GTO.
For dedicated street tires, the PSS is vastly better than the OEM MPSC+.

I replaced my Sport Cup with a set of Super Sports, they will be used for occasional street use and rain tires at the track.
I run R6's for DE and Nitto NT01 for AX so don't see the need to track the Super Sports.
I have a few track buddies that are running them at the track and they are better than PS2 but not close to Sport Cups.

I also notice the last longer than the RE-11, the RE-11 are long lasting, the PSS lasts even more.

i have a set on my RS street wheels and love them. Better then PS2 in wet and dry.
they can handle occasional track days too.
they last long and priced right.

I do think the shorter 265/30/19 at 25.3 height vs 26.0 height for the 255/35/19 might be a interesting tire for the mk2 car's that come with a 9" width rimm.

Like the michelin man himself, the PSSs are a chubby tire meaning they have a rather thick sidewall that act as almost like an unintentional rim protector.
-they're not yet N rated (me no care)
-damon@tirerack has mentioned that michelin will increase their pricing after this special introductory sale period which makes the much less of a no brainer choice if and when this happens
so if you want a set, get them soon, but make sure your wheel fitment isn't overly aggressive else you may rub.

Looking at the specs from Michelin, definitely the 245/35R19 is the best choice, given that the biggest rear size is a 305/30R19. The 255 doesn't offer more width, just an increase in load rating due to the taller tire.
245/35R19 and 305/30R19 is the perfect PSS combination.
When Michelin builds the 325/30R19, then 265/30R19 and 325/30R19 would be even better, with the front 265 running on a 9" wheel.

Relative to stock front 245/35 MPSC's on 3.8 RS the 265/30 is 0.5" smaller in diameter and about 1" wider on tread and section width. I'm wondering if those differences are too much given clearance and ice mode issues.

There is a % ratio built into the ABS for these cars, it is supposed to be at 5% but I use a 4% to keep it safe. I run my Cayman on 24.8" tall tires front and rear, way out of stock ratios, and the car has never entered ice mode.
My 2007 RS used to enter ice mode at every track day. The 996 GT3 was ice mode friendly (very few occasions ), despite of the multiple different sizes of tires I ran with it .
