I'm curious because I intend to try the Super Sport, but in the 245 size.
Fender lip.

Alignment is quite ordinary: -2.2 up front.

What is the optimum size set up for a stock 997.1 GT3 then? I want to run more front tyre on my car compared to rear but i'd rather not move to new wheels right now but I think this is the only answer, the GT3 has too much rear tyre for my liking. I normally run 888s on the street which are lots of fun in the wet/cold.....
I think it depends on the tire.

I run standard wheels on my RS.1 with 7mm spacer in front & 14mm in the rear. I have Pilot Sport cups & it has never rubbed (235front & 305rear). I too would like to increase to 245 front.
Any suggestions?

I run the 245 PSS with struts turned, -2.3 front camber and 7mm spacer with a 51mm offset Volk = 44mm offset and there is absolutely no issue with fender rubbing ( key is turned front strut) - car is also lowered about 15mm all around - but I have higher spring rates.

I'm running -1.5 camber & 2mm toe in at the rear, -2.2 camber & 1mm of toe out at the front. This for the SS. On Cups you would have more camber at the rear and wouldn't need the toe out at the front, or you would need a lot less.

anyone else annoyed at the size of the sidewall lip that sticks out on the PSS? my rear rubber actually sticks out of the wheel well (stock GT3 rims/stock 997.2 GT3).

i know this is a silly detail, but i'm not big on the look of rubber exceeding the width of the sheetmetal. love the tires, just not this particular bit.

Smurfette got a new set of shoes yesterday. Set of PSS, the smell of new rubber in the garage is awesome. How many PSI are you guys running on these? The same as the MPSC OEM? 29PSI front and 33 PSI in the rear?

Cold, 28F/29R. In my neck of the woods that heats up to 32F/34R. May drop the hot pressure by 1 or 2 psi's if track but I've not lapped these tires extensively.

It feels like the MPSS sidewalls are stiffer than MPSC+ N1's and hence don't need as much pressure, particularly around town navigating potholes...

Thanks, I may try that. I felt some small vibration on the streeting wheel with the new tires. maybe there is a break in period?

Funny you say this - my first set, one of the first available, actually had to be returned and Mich sent out a new set - the tires were not true. The second set had a similar but less issue. I then went to my race shop and they put them on the 'their' balancer and almost laughed at what they saw - they couldn't believe that the other shop had actually balanced them - they thought it was impossible - and yet the wheel weights on the rim were new and clearly still there. Their machine showed them to be very off in the extreme and they re-balanced them and all was perfect. So, I would say, go and have all the tires re-checked for balance.

Thanks for the feedback, but that really sucks. I am glad Michelin was willing to work with you...

Mike,
Do you have more picture of what the 305/30/19 PSS looks like on the factory 19x12 wheel? It looks very stretched from the pictures but I was under the assumption that the PSS actually run wide for a 305/30/19 tire.

Thx

The OE MPSCs have a square shoulder area with no rim lip protector. Thus it doesn't look stretched in a 305 but the OE wheel easily would scrape the curb. The MPSS has a substantial lip protector built into and thus it makes it looked stretched if you will. The OE 12" rim better fits a 325 from a looks perspective but from a contact patch perspective the 305 is perfect on a 12" - which is what you care about.
