it may be fast, but its still ugly, and its not a mezger GT car ... there are many cars faster than a GT around the ring, LFA, Z06, I still would not want one ... even if it was mexico blue

Nice accomplishment for new 991S, though the car which did the 7:40 'Ring time had PDK. "Stick vs. stick" would no doubt go the the 997.2 GT3.

guess we will have to wait till 2014 to see the 991GT3 performance, I guess somewhere between the .2 and the 4.0 RS ... gentlemen place your bets.

funny I had the same thought ... I wonder if they have reduced the weight and decreased the cup holder deployment times on the 991 ... I hope so, its all about how quickly those pop out!
I can feel a whole new forum needed to discuss cup holders...

I can believe that ... I just came back from doing Euro Delivery on a 550i M-Sport ... now I find myself yearning "flappy paddles" on my steering wheel and a little rocker button on my center console that brings up a picture of the car on the ctr display to enable me to configure the suspension settings! ... hell I even like the heads up display ...
oh dear ... who am I, and what I have done with the real Larry Cable! ...

The Mezger I think is history. I suspect the 9A1 will appear in motorsports trim and no one will remember the Mezger, and that does not diminish the Mezger quality/fame in any way, of course. Beyond that, I suspect the new cars will be intrinsically more competent due to active controls - active dampers, active rollbars, and so on. They lack feel, very much like the GT-R. They will be great performers no doubt if that's the goal. I think that is the inflection point we are at in terms of car design.

Mea culpa.. and since I am here:
sport chrono with two gauges in the dashboard one clock and an analog compass to compliment the navi screen.
Heated ventilated full leather non bucket seats
3 and 3 tail pipes
Sunroof tinted
21" inch wheels with runflats
matching luggage with deviated stitching

I am moderating the 991 forum and have to blend in..
And for the record mine has no iDrive, no NAVI, no nothing.
