Default Quick thinking Cup car driver...

Per the rule, only 1 set of wheels/tires are allowed for qualifying.

So when an incident happened during qualifying to Jeroen Bleekemolen's car, a front wheel came loose. Instead of just drive it back to the pit, he went out and picked up the loose wheel, put it in the passenger side, and drove back to the pit.

This way he didn't break the rule (or he would have to start at the end of the grid).

He went on to start on pole during the race and won!

LOL

Great move and he is not proud to get out of the car, run around looking for the wheel and stick it back in the car and drive it back to pit. That's my kind of race driver

Good job.

Gotta love those center locks!

Of course it may well have been his crew that told him to stop the car and go pick up the wheel. Never underestimate the advantage of a good crew.

Must have some rally experience. : ) Fortunate it happened while still in pit lane...if he had been anywhere on the actual race circuit don't think it would have been allowed for him to exit the car and go in search of a wayward wheel.
