Let;s find a good shipping company for the details.

Larry, just watched the Youtube above.
I wanna go, Looks like ton a fun as long as we get real GT3's to do the slippery slidey stuff.
Maybe we'll use theirs to practice, but I wonder if I could bring mine with the LSD and stuff it will be different.

What are the dates?
I dont know if we would be able to rent GT3's ... but I think you would be allowed to bring your own car...

I will check into the dates, I was thinking that if we could garner enough interest that we could put together a custom event ...

I'll check with Silverstone and post the results!

We can find out what Porsches they provide at the Porsche event at Silverstone right?
Renting a GT3 is too expensive..

Larry, i'm in touch with the GTR guys so I can introduce you both to collaborate. One of them is also thinking of coming back this summer, but buying a BMW euro delivery instead of bringing his GTR back out.
The ring's current management won a civil case against one of the major rental agencies recently. it seems all private companies renting vehicles at the ring this year may have some hefty fines to pay in order to continue operating. It may just be that the only way to drive a 911 on the ring is to bring your own.

silverstone sounds great, hoping to join you guys for that too. also need to make sure we have spa in there as well. I also would recommend trying the test track out at Leipzig. And while we are at it, we need Jochen to make a call and get us some track time at Weisach! at the very least a tour there.

when i did the precision level class in leipzig last year, the C2S and C4S was available to rent at 500€ per day. The Turbo was 1000€. Didn't see any GT3 rentals.

oh the classic porsche class had Walter as the lead instructor last summer.

That's totally bizarre. Did they confirm it's not set up to drive back-to-back. Maybe the 28th is a "half day finish" and also a "half day start" (or something?) Seems mad to not offer the full junkie experience.

I was a little stunned in disbelief when I saw the dates myself, that they would deliberately organize it in such a way (apparently) that those of us (incl me) with more disposable income than sense interested in graduating directly from "Precision" into "Performance" couldn't ... seriously are these guys "not for profit" ???

I sent them back an e-mail asking essentially "WTF?" ... although the 'F' was parenthetical/silent...

I'll post what they respond with!!!

The catalog suggested that you 'had' to graduate 'Precision' in order to take 'Performance' maybe that is not the case ...

we will see ... anyway they burst my Monday morning bubble!

Let's find out what they say.
I'm booked for April, kinda planning May already so June is good if I don't do my West Coast or Ring trip.
I've had the best luck with weather end of June and July.

I wanted to go through the entire program with PSDS but I must say the Precision course is more of a sales pitch mixed with some car control. track time (full laps) was only one 20 minute session on the first day and then about 1.5 hours on the second. i enjoyed throwing the cayenne around in the mud, riding with rally driver in pano sideways all the way around the track, and hot laps with instructors in turbo's, but would gladly trade all of that crap for more track time. Larry and Peter you both don't need to waste time or money on Precision course.

Allright, allright. Let me find some quotes from shippers who have done this before. Any pointers are welcome. Larry, you shipped your car back and forth right?

UK car provided. Right?
Thanks Jim, guess we will do one of these dates:
Performance (Two day course)
Wednesday 18th May- Thursday 19th May
Monday 20th June - Tuesday 21st June
No car provided:
In order:
Spa 15+16 June
Run Ring as much as possible, maybe find some track days in driving distance?
Ring 9+10 August
Run Ring as much as possible, maybe find some track days in driving distance?
Ring 29+30 Sept
Ship car back
So should I ask manthey to receive the container and pick it up there?
Other suggestions? Seems like we will start in Spa..

Who else wants put his car, tires and tools in a 40' Or just Roro and no tools?
I have a van that I can use, just need to find a 3rd person to drive it I guess. I wonder what my dad is doing this summer..

I think I'd probably prefer to do the PSDS @ the Ring or Spa rather than the Silverstone course ... if I could do both that would be even better ...

any ideas when the Manthey customer day is ... or the Scuderia Hanseat?

Yes, you can rent a 911 for around 400 sterling ($6xx) a day

The guys that did this for the BMW school last year with their GT-Rs imported via Beligum, it is rumored that if you do this into Germany they may ask for a VAT deposit returnable when the car is exported ...

I *may* just go with the option of doing one of these and renting locally, not sure I want the pain of asking BofA if I can take their car overseas!

We should also checkout when the BMW school is (no dates yet but it may be close to the August PSDS dates as well as the Manthey customer day!
