Yeah, John does a great job and its an excellent product. However, the OZ's IMO look better. And they're also about a 1000 bucks less... I would also better they're a few pounds lighter as well ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I tracked them in the 996 and they were great. Nothing wrong with CCW too. They have a stellar rep. Only drawback to OZ is that in 18's you have to get a 8.5 front and a 12 rear instead of the preferable 9" front. No biggie though.

245 tire looks like a candidate for 8.5 rims.
i really liked those v700 kumhos I ran on last season, for AX they worked fine -compound was very soft and had a lot of grip but on track front tires got melted after first 2 sessions in 85 deg weather and lost about of 2/32" of tread in one day, sizing was 265/335 and compared to other sizes car was most stable on this rubber, at least for AX wider is better no matter what.
those RA1 logically should work best in 245/305 on 8.5" fronts 11" rear rims
but to mount 305 tire on a 12" rear rim does not seem to have much sense, 245/335 tires combination also looks kinda weird, so, I am not sure if that tradeoff is worth it.
I have right now new v700 (v70a) kumho 265 for fronts with half wasted 335shaved rears, set of new R888 rubber in 255/335 and those RA1 in 245/335. Will see next season which set will work best on my 9"/12" rims.

Why do I need a much wider front? Stock sizes are 235/35-19 and 305/30-19, 8.5" and 12" respectively on a standard GT3. I was considering moving down to 18" wheels but maintaining the same widths.

Ok, I've got to start paying attention here ![popcorn](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/popcorn.gif)
^ I would venture that you need to fit as wide a tire in the front as you can to minimize the inherent tendency of the design to understeer... but I'll let the experts chime in.

2. if oem is 8.5 i suppose you can keep it at that width.
3. i prefer wider front b/c all gt3's push. on a narrow body 996 gt3, i run 9.5" with 12" rear (and i actually like my car to push a LOT more than most ppl.) so for me a 8.5" front simply will not turn. i can barely get the car turn in fast enough with 9.5"
