Default GMG XMAS for my GT3

Wanted to post a couple of quick pics of the XMAS presents I got for my GT3. After considerable research I chose GMG WC C/L wheels and their RSR roll bar. I also added red anodized OEM C/L nuts. I was concerned it would be a bit too much bling but I'm happy with the results. Your opinions (ouch!) are welcome.

I can't say enough positive things about my dealings with GMG. James and Fabryce were a pleasure to work with and they really delivered. The parts were shipped and arrived in 4 days as promised. I was a bit worried because of the holiday shipping crunch. Everything was top quality. The wheels are a work of mechanical art IMHO and easier to clean than the OEMs. More clearance around the brake calipers. The RSR roll bar fit perfectly after a bit of a minor mod to a plastic guard in the bottom floor pan near the seat belt mounting area. Absolutely rock solid. My local dealer installed everything and their work was fantastic. They have great technicians and I totally trust them with my car.

Of course i know that seats and harness are next, but I need a wee bit of time for the wife to get over my Porsche XMAS excess. These were the first real mods for the car and they free up my OEM wheels with Cup tires for the track. I liked the look of the GMG wheels so much that I'm sticking with them for the street.

Those are my favorite CL wheels - gorgeous. How much unsprung weight do they save vs. stock wheels?

Why have a roll bar w/seats that don't work with a harness?

He is doing it one step at a time. / wife alert : )

I realy like the wheels design and hope they are lighter too! and I do like the roll bar looks but I think that the front mounting sollution is not ideal, I prefer the floor mounting option with plates.

It is a work in progress. One step at a time. I am open to donations however.

You beat me too the punch. The wife is indeed a consideration.

Nice job, love those wheels and the CLs. Yeah you need those buckets. You'll save close to 70 lbs over those A.S.S.s.

GMGs are one of the nicest aftermarket wheels on the market, imo. You saved something like 18-20 lbs, right?

The wheels look great! Are those the 19"s or the 18"s? Don't get me wrong, I think the car looks awesome the way you've got it set-up now, but... I would want those wheels for the track, not the street, since they offer a significant weight savings at each corner. Light is fast!

Thanks Chris, you are correct regarding the seats. I couldn't believe how heavy they were as I went to lift them when they were out of the car. I'm on the hunt for new seats, it's only a matter of time.

The wheels are lighter. I will weigh mounted Cups on OEMs versus mounted PS2's on the GMGs and let you know the difference.

Have you dug out from the snow yet?
