Why is this Mexico Blue RS being called Aqua Metallic by selling Porsche dealer?
http://hickory.porschedealer.com/pre...32715/info.php
We talked about this used RS at Porsche of Hickory, NC on another thread a few weeks ago. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...lis-today.html It is a very rare PTS 'Mexico Blue', not 'Riviera Blue' as I first thought. Don't you find it amazing that this Porsche dealer keeps referring to this vehicle as 'Aqua Blue Metallic' in all of its ads in Autotrader, Cars.com and its own Porsche website? And that nobody in sales or management has yet corrected it? Can't they see it is not a metallic paint or that this lively, medium Blue color is quite different from the darker/metal flaked Aqua Blue 911's and Boxster/Caymans currently on their lot?
This dealer is asking $179,900 for this used .2 gt3 RS and can't quite bother to explain to potential buyers that this is a super rare color and a custom-order PTS vehicle. This level of incompetence, or simply lack of interest, from dealer staff is simply breath-taking! Shame on Hickory! Either that...or it's a consignment. And Hickory is perhaps hoping to force owner to agree to a low-ball, fire-sale discount to them when they find, after this half-*** attempt, no takers. What do you guys think is going on? z356

I vote for the second scenario, for the only reason that I always do enjoy a good conspiracy theory.
Besides everybody knows that dealers and their employees always are very reliable, well informed, and knowledgeable about P cars and market practices people.

is it possible that when selecting color for their website that they have to select only from factory listed colors?
since it is the Porsche corp dealer website and all...
just giving them the benefit of the doubt that aqua blue is the only blue available for them to select from...
then I go to see the options list and it is a bunch of nothing... so likely you are right... they just do not give a $hit

They have a choice of calling it something like 'Paint to Sample Non Metallic' in the Porsche computers. That is what we see when Walter's, Pioneer or other PTS oriented P-dealers list a custom order paint like Riviera, Mexico Blue, RS Orange or other non-metallic color vehicles in the PCNA computer system. What is their excuse for calling it 'Aqua Blue Metallic' in their ads in Cars.com or Autotrader? They are giving this beautiful RS an unusual dose of disrespect at Hickory and I am wondering...why? z356

my local dealer had a cayman advertised on the floor at $10,400 driveaway (add another zero for aus). i walked in the door, saw it, and said, "i'll take this right now". he laughed, coz he knows i don't buy anything. i said, "don't laugh, i'm serious, let's move it". had him, until he looked at it. people make mistakes. some of these people hire monkeys, who make more mistakes....
in this case, i'd say the dealer principal hired a monkey manager who hardly checks his monkey's works...

It's even got the brake down grade option.
"4-piston monobloc fixed aluminum calipers front and rear"
And the 18" Wheel option......
The dealer, or the guy doing the add should be shot.
