As promised...

First, got to say: These are pre-production, non-polished stands so yours will be blingy'er.

Got home from work and this is what I saw

Lots of room for the jack and some measurements.

Car is low so putting the pad in place WITH the rubber was tight. I jacked up, put a 2 x 6 under the wheel, lowered the car, and then the pad fit nicely with the rubber and pin.

It's a bit tricky to center the pin in the car's jack receiver on such a low car so you've got to pay attention.

Sorry, haven't yet figured out how to put text BETWEEN pics

- Solid support.
- With that angle, I was very happy to have the pins in there.
- Pretty tight in the garage so it was fun to jack the car.

These will come in handy, I've got a coolant leak to troubleshoot. That's why there's a pan under there

Took 1 hour from bringing the boxes down to the garage, to uploading pictures to the computer.

The stands are very well made and I am particularly impressed with the tapered pad/stand interface

It's only necessary to jack the back to insert both stands on one side.

Good point regarding lifting only one end. I've got to get used to the extreme attitude first though; it's kind of scary to see the car sideways or diving front or back. No worries that the stands can take it though

Ah yes, I can see how the taller pad would make it easier to position it for use. As I said to you in my e-mail, this is the only "challenging" aspect. Of course, I had barely enough room around the car to poke my head under to see what I was doing, let alone be comfortable doing so. I had to use only half of my jack handle to jack the car up. Took a lot of grunting.

LOL, who are the two good lookin men in this pic?

You guys will love this product! John put a lot of time into this project to insure that the stands will perform as designed. Enjoy!

I might mention - there's a good article in the February 2011 issue of excellence about coolant leaks in 996 and 997 GT2, GT3, and turbo models.

Also worth note - I was glad your stands arrived in good shape considering the shipping history indicates your location was the 5th destination in the process. Imagine the number of tosses and drop kicks they endured going through 4 shipping terminals. It looks like the boxes absorbed the abuse and things inside were ok.
Thanks, I'm all over that (the leak).

Yeah about the shipping, and surprised about the lack of damage. You could probably put a car on these and they would be fine. Oh wait... that's the (jack)point

What is the exact height of the stands (When a car is on the stands, what is the exact height the car is off the ground at the jacking point)?
Thanks, Rich

John's point is well made. Sometimes we'll get too close to our cars, get comfortable, and take chances. that being said, they still remain extremely safe and stable with either 2 or 4 are in place. a question was asked earlier about clearance under the car. Two jack stands in the front or rear of your car will give you between 17 and 23 inches of space to work with. Those numbers are estimates and they will differ based on the factory jack point, Tire profiles, and lips/diffusers, etc....

Well gentleman and ladies the Weather in the midwest has not only caused delays at O'Hare. We are not able to complete production this week as planned. It appears that orders placed over the past two weeks will be delayed until early next week...Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused... Chuck
