Default Favorite Helmet?

I have lots of motorcycle helmet experience, having worn mainly Shoei and Arai over the past 30 years. I put about 10-15,000 miles per year and replace them after about 4 years. Auto helmets are new to me, and I am ready to replace my Bell 3/4 for a good full-face. Any suggestions?

I have Arai's for both motorcycles and autos. They fit well and are nicely made.

sounds like your head fits arai, then go with that.

bell is good too, but i like arai better.
fit is most important.

Arai GP-5 is what I have.
others are.....
Stand 21 -- they have a nice Porsche line including helmets. They also seem to offer more fitting options than other manufacturers. www.stand21.us
Stilo -- Italian helmet company. Unique appearance. www.stilo-usa.com/helmets
HJC/Sparco/Bell/Simpson..... are others.

I chose not to mention Schuberth since they're beautiful but can't be bought by us blokes.

It's the forbidden fruit of helmets.... reserved for F1 elites

Quite happy with my Stand21 Ivos Double Duty. Comes in FIA ($$$$$) and non-FIA ($$$$).

Have never had a sore neck thanks to very light weight and design.

Arai or Schuberth are other brands I would personally be very happy with. Weight is your enemy, go carbon for sure. FIA certification is more $$ but ultimate assurance of protection ability. Only one melon, the last item I would ever think of skimping on.

Ummm, just looked at that Stilo, awesome! I likee! Very nice too.

I use a Bell S2R, cheap enough to replace often and I know it fits.
It's always too hot to close visors, so I don;t want one.

Stilo and Arai have simillar ones but double and triple the price..

Problem is I can't find a place where you can order them online with the Hans anchors installed. They tell me they are discontinued...

I will make some calls next week when the retailers open.

HANs are standard on this model. But pricey!
