Since the estimate called out that it was ~$1500 just to drop the engine out, it is a good time to raid the piggy bank and do other modifications

As an FYI, I’ve had coolant drips under the nose of my 2011 GT3 twice over the past year. Thankfully not catastrophic, however the metal ends of the coolant tubes by the radiators and under the belly do apparently corrode. Four replaced thus far.

It seems that in united states and on rennlist that cooland lines problem is well known and documented and different tuners offer pinning or welding solutions about it.
In Europe there is almost no knowledge about the problem (even if of course it would happen on cars in europe) at least on internet.
I think also some big crash of many cars on the nurburgring including a 991.1 gt3 rs was caused by the leak of an older gt3.
I tried to ask Manthey Racing and other German Porsche race teams and tuners (also to know if they offer a solution or can weld or pin the couplers) and they usually reply in a not clear way as if they did not understand what I m talking abouto or saying that it was only a problem on the much older cars
but that later porsche changed the type of glue etc...
I had a reply like "that s usually the mechanichs fault..." well how could it be a mechanic s fault if no one touched the engine and if the parts were never removed?
BTW I would like to know if anyone know about some European forum where they talk about the hose coupler failure or an European tuner that did some kind of upgrade

Some garage **** of the process. Preventative only, nothing catastrophic happened!

recently picked up a 7.1 and this thread convinced me to get the lines pinned before hitting Laguna Seca next month..thanks for all the tips and insights!
