Last weekend was one of the "no sound" events at Laguna. There's a few no sound days this year at Laguna for amateurs to get on the track without the sound police. The noise from the american iron run groups (various Shelby Cobra replicas and prehistoric roundy-round tanks) was just deafening and completely intolerable beyond the first few seconds of novelty. Even the -20 dB headsets weren't enough to be trackside. Some of the V8's could be heard through your chest ... shaking the plaque off your aorta ...

Hey Pete, I can stuff a chiwawa under your front wheel well - too much room. You need to lower it some more ... will handle much better

It fits directs?

I actually do and feel that the rear is very planted. It is a direct fit as it's the OEM R/Hybrid wing.

And all GT3R/RSR/Hybrid cup cars have the same wing so I am sure it works

It is a tidy direct bolt-on, but keep in mind it's a motorsport part, so the angle adjustment is a matrix of holes and it's all rather more "purposeful" than the street car wing.

Given the clean airflow, one might argue the higher position and extra width with bigger end plates could see the competition wing producing more downforce at lower speeds. The factory wing produces so much force that the rear of the car really starts to clamp down on the ground at 80 to 100 mph. It's something that I've never experienced before in a 911 -- aero is a b-e-a-utiful thing on long sweepers and fast transitions. I'm generally disinclined to add on the bling and froufrou, but this wing is very tempting. Anybody know a cheap source? : )

CarreraGT

I ordered mine from Gert at Carnewal. Ordering directly from him and paying in Euro's cost me only a little over $4500 shipped for the wing + support mounts + shipping. If it was bought from the U.S cost would have been close to $8K! So with the weak dollar I highly suggest buying from Gert or another vendor who can buy directly from Porsche Motorsports International (North America does not sell the wing)

From Gert back on 5/30/2010
The price for the GT3R spoiler, with the 2 uprights and the flap is 3665 Euro shipping included.
I just checked and I can have the parts in 2-3 days.

Don't hesitate to contact me for further information.

Best regards.

Gert.

and after I found out what Pete paid for his exhaust and what I paid for my Wing and Sharkwerks muffler delete I had enough money left over for a set of new HRE wheels But then again, I don't have Pete's sick exhaust set up ;(
