Mk 2 RS Track Alignment How much Neg Camber?
#32
I'm guessing something like -3 front and rear for the 2010 RS on R6's.
-2 front and rear was "enough" but not optimal and -2.5 is their stated "minimum."
-2 f + r was good for Sport Cups.
With Mac struts, I'm surprised -4 worked at all. Maybe with street springs and sways?
10 celsius range -- what was the inside temp reading?

-2.5 front and -2.5 was very good with Hoosiers R6, but too much in the rear for RA1's.
I am going to flip the rears on the RA 1's (Outside still virgin) and try -1.8 rear.
When I had -1.8 rear on the Hoosier R6, I had some outside wear.
My fronts wear perfect booth Hoosiers and RA1.

Track - I had 2.4 neg rear ad corded the inside edge of the R6 Went to 2.2 neg and all was/is well. The 2.4 worked well on the narrower 996 GT3 tires. The 325s on the '10 RS need less negative camber because they are wider

Yes, camber is pretty delicate with 335's in the rear. Even wear on R6, crazy uneven the next day with RA1's.. I thing maybe the RA1 is stiffer and "gives" less + less overall grip.
The hoosiers corded down the middle, so perfect. Put new RA1's on, 2 seconds faster and absolutely no tread wear outside 30% of tire! Same track, same day.

what size hoosier slicks are you using?
i bought spare 19" rims and cantget a hoosier slick.
the Michelin 19"s are very expensive and i think only go to 290 wide.
anyone with experience here?

Hmmm. I have 345 Hooters on the back of the 10 RS. Sounds like I might step it up from -2.0 to -2.2 and the same -2.2 on the fronts (265/19's.) What's the rear toe? I assume zero or a smidge toe-out front.

Time to bring this thread back from the dead. Anyone with any updates? I don't really hear too many going as high as -3 up front. Range seems to be -2.5 to -3 front, -2.2 to -2.5 rear.
Car is getting set up for next season and I want to start fresh. I have a friend who is running -3f, -2.25R on a regular 997.2 GT3 and he thinks the car feels great. Will likely be using some Hoosiers and some Pirelli Corsa/MPSC/Trofeo. So what do you think?
