Default GT2 values

These don't seem to get the love of other GT cars or is it just me...even with the pandemic spikes, these seem a relative "value" and haven't gone bonkers on price. Will that ever happen or are they just a stepchild of sorts in this world? Asking because I just don't know but it seems the same happened with earlier generations of the GT2s.

Can someone chime in on what are the rarest non-pts colors of the 997.1 GT2 ? don't know that I have seen much outside of black or silver and occasional red.

This Meteor Grey is 1 of 7 made in 2008 (8 total including 2009's)

In the grand scheme, all of these cars are rare with less than 200 total, but no color beside Black and White had more than 20 examples.

Even with the pandemic pricing sending GT3RS prices to the moon in many cases, the amazing GT2 continues to soldier along at a relative bargain indeed. These cars are so much more special than most people think.

I just purchased an 08 GT2 from Merit. I own a green 08 RS as well. GT2 exceeds expectations and the power is unreal.

Just a few years ago, a nice .1RS typically went for around $40k less than a comparable GT2. Today, just look what’s going on with the former:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...che-gt3-rs-33/

Like the stock market then vs now, this kinda makes me wish I bought that pumpkin .1RS sitting next to my future GT2 at the dealer a few years ago. If I did though, I would not have had as much enjoyment as I have had so far. Different strokes…..cars should only be an investment in fun….and all that.

But since this is a value thread, maybe best to put it like this: The GT3RS is almost like its own brand, like “Prius”. So much better known to the motoring public. I have had to on several occasions explain to “car guys” what a GT2 was. Of course everyone knows what a GT3 is. And so, back to stock market analogy, maybe whats happening with the .1RS today is akin to a 90 P/E robinhood tech stock, and the GT2 more like a dividend paying value stock.

Maybe its the turbo nature of the GT2 compared to the screamer GT3? Turbo cars are absolutely everywhere these days but its rare to find an N/A & manual. Either way, you win with both cars.

Funny to me that 500/500 GT2RS has the adaptive sport seats, but I would just swap them out as I did on my own 997.1 GT2. Dare to dream...that car must be worth a HUGE amount of money.
Only costs a mere $675k

"Regular" GT2 inventory has completely dried up, but this white one was just listed Grand Prix in Portland.

Sport Seats and ~7k miles, and interior trim painted white.

Saw this. Interested in seeing pics and price. 997 GT2 inventory seemingly getting snatched up as the best kept secret. No major price hike seen...yet.

This car was for sale by the original owner within the last 10 days for $179k (autotrader). What a shame this dealer ended up with the car

I just texted with someone at Grand Prix. The car is en route to them now. They will be asking $351K. I made him confirm that was US currency... lol

Was this car seriously on the market days ago for $179k? Great price if true and would've been worth adding another GT2 in the garage! Imagine being the previous seller knowing they are turning it around and adding 170k to the price!
