Does it come with the original exhaust? Not that it makes a huge difference since it is still a 1k mile 997 GT2 in a rare color. There are only 17 Speed Yellow 997 GT2’s in North America. Speed Yellow is been making a comeback over the past few years and cars finished in it have been quite desirable.
According to the dealer's website, yes it does, and not only that but a K40 Calibre radar system as well! LOL that made me laugh when I read that because mine had the same system in it when I got it. Must have been the hot ticket in 2008! Had to take off the front and rear bumper covers to remove the whole system. Completely useless laser "diffuser" and always going off constantly radar.
WP0AD29988S796258 ended bid up to $175 not meeting reserve, which was a very surprising conclusion to everyone watching. What happened? I know the ^@$ K40 was falsing all during the drive video, but that couldn't have been it!
Was watching, not bidding. Having chatted with the seller, the expectation (and reserve) was of course north of the $193k sale on the last Speed Yellow 5k mile car.
I think that expectation is intuitive to all bidders, but probably discouraging. It's a car begging to be driven, not quite a true collectable, so tough to justify paying a premium for a super low miles car.
In short, if the car had 4k miles...I'm sure it would have been bid closer to $200k under the expectation it would sell.
It was really odd to me how the bidding just STOPPED well ahead of the final 20 minutes, and then nothing else happened. Truly a strange result as I think everyone agreed it was worth $190k+
Bids could have been “pushes.” I say that do to lack of inactivity. It would be very hard to prove wrongdoing though based upon bidding/bidder setup online. It can and has been done before. AZ911 was the last familiar bidder.
agree on it being worth above 175. But not more than 200. Markets have headed south for the past two weeks. Money is tied up elsewhere I’d say. Past sales in this day and age (since Feb) are all over the place.
Well it certainly is an ambitious 'flip' if that is what we're seeing. One would think and hope that they would have corrected the non GT2ness of that particular car for such a large asking price. The kind of people willing to pay $170k for a GT2 will differ a bit from the kind of people willing to pay $120k (I speak from personal experience on that matter). If I were paying $170k I would expect EVERYTHING to be correct, whereas I was more accepting of faults or deviations from OEM in the lower price range that I actually bought in.
I thought that that Mecum car had some sort of issues or questionable history as the hammer price was several tens of thousands less than what dealers were bidding on the previous BaT car. There must be a story here not only with the Mecum price but now it being put back on the market so quickly?
