Sport Chrono on the GT3 & RS?
I was always under the impression that as the GT3 and RS have the Sport button, that the dashboard wart... oops, sorry, I mean Sport Chrono was irrelevant unless you were bothered about the lap timer and ability to set individual driver settings via PCM?
With all that said, are people putting Sport Chrono on their GT3s and RSs?
My intention was not to spec it but a few people have questioned that decision.

I think it's re sale paranoia more than a value for money essential option. Dash looks better without it but if it's not there people think they're maybe missing something?

While the RS is a niche car, often the people who buy them second hand don't really understand what they are buying and therefore, if the wart is not on the dash, they think something is "missing".
I haven't looked to see if any of the 997.2 RS press cars have it.

True Porsche enthusiasts will understand and appreciate that you did NOT spec the SC.
Car with PDK, SC is a must. Cars without, I think a waste of money, and gain a wart.

No Sport Chrono on mine either.

GT3/RS options...
The GT3 and RS both clearly look much better without the Sport Chrono (wart) -- apparently Andreas Preuninger insisted that it was not a required option on the GT3 range...

For whatever reason dealers "LOVE" to spec the chrono wart.
Of the remaining GT3's on dealers floors their are only 5 or so without the wart

I would not even consider a used GT3 or RS with SC. Opinionated maybe, but it actually irritates me to see this thing. Unfortunately, it is a necessary evil in other Porsche models and certainly ones with PDK. What is AMAZING is that there are Porsche sales people out there telling people it is a necessary option, in order to get the Sport button (and sport exhaust). I had an experienced salesman at a major dealership argue that point with me just yesterday! He would not relent until I took him to a computer and proved the point. He had specced both GT3s in his showroom and both had SC! Idiot.

In 5 years I never used SC on my 997S and don't plan to on the GT3 apart from initially configuring settings on the PCM. It may or may not make a difference on resale but, for the sake of what it costs, I thought I might as well spec it.
