I purchased a 2007 RS sight unseen in California March 2009 and had directly sent to a shop in California to be prepped for mild racing duty.
(suspension, roll cage, exhaust etc..)
Since i live in Canada i havent actually laid eyes on the car until I finally arrived yesterday August 24th to take delivery of the RS.
I was very excited to see it for the first time, especially now that it has the Clubsport and CUP parts on it! (i must say these cars look better in person then in photos!)
Now that im with the RS i need to get the car into Ontario Canada by September 1st to install a rally computer for the 2009 Targa Tarmac Rally.
This race is in Newfoundland Sept 12th and i will only have less then a week to make the drive from Ontario to Newfoundland after the computer install. (yes, im driving from California to Newfoundland)
Im ready to start the journey however i have run into the first problem of the CUP tank and CUP steering wheel are throwing codes on the computer..
(fuel level, air bag light etc..)
We are currently sorting it out, however it is posing a challenge.
I will photo/document my journey and trouble shooting along the way on Rennlist from hotel room to hotel room along the way to help pass time if anybody cares to follow it.
Here are the first batch of photos of RS at the shop surrounded by Cup cars and even a couple of GT2 993's:

So hopefully you are towing and not driving that machine across North America. If you are driving it with the new suspension, hopefully it is not too low (for obvious reasons) or too firm that your trip becomes a royal pain in the a**. Also I do recall that getting onto (and off) the ramps for the boat from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland can be tricky, and they may have a challenge "tying your car down" for the trip (if they still do that).
Regardless drive safe and have lots of fun! Have you decided on the route yet?

I actually installed Bilsteins and raised them as high as they can go for maximum travel. Hopefully this will suffice for the rally. (the car still looks low but is higher then stock)

i decided against towing all together when i bought the gt3rs..... these cars can be driven too and from the track long and hard for many, many years.

2) Can you actually bring the car to Canada without an airbag? Doesn't the car have to now be inspected by a Porsche delaer for the sign-off?
