In the past, whenever you order a new key, porsche enables one of the keys for that purpose to eliminate duplicate keys. Porsche has
X amount of key limited to the key banks per car giving the customer 2 keys upon buying a new car. When a key is lost or asked to duplicate, Porsche will block that key that is missing or stolen and another key made from the factory. This is why the keys cost so much to re-order. I know this because I had to order one before and went through this process explained by the service manager. The reasoning behind this is if the key that is lost or stolen is recovered, it cannot be used to start the car however, it can be used to open the car.

I was pissed before but now i'm in a rage! My temper too would easily put me in trouble with the "authorities" for such accusations. This is idiotic!@$
Keep us informed.

My beautiful speed yellow gt3 (featured in my avatar) was cruelly stolen today from the red rock casino in vegas - i was parked on the 4th floor where there isnt much foot traffic (which I guess is not the good thing I thought it was)...
I am so furious I cant believe it.
so upset.

Sorry about the crap you're going through. That sucks!
Don't casinos have about a billion cameras? Some of those billion should be in the parkade. They must have footage of the car leaving. The cops should get on that before hassling you too much. I'd mention that to them in a more than snarky manner. My patience level drops to about zero pretty fast around idiots.

Now, not only do I have to deal with getting home, buying a new car AND insurance nightmares... I have taking a freaking polygraph and deal with convincing the las vegas police that I didnt torch my own car..
un freaking believable..
Talk about a bad day. This is one of the worst days I have ever had.........
I am so freaking pissed off. I was like, let me take a polygraph right now! and then you can apologize to me when I pass with flying colors.

X2 on getting an attorney. This thing is spiraling out of control, and you need someone on your side.
Any chance that someone at the casino had it in for you? Were you winning? Any possibility your key was taken from you temporarily?
Best of luck dude.....this sux......

So, there was a witness of it being driven to the spot, but no witness of a torching??? I'd be asking where is this spot? Who was this witness? An adult? A drunk? A con? An old lady????
Was the fire dept called? how long did it sit before being torched? How long did it sit after being torched before the police found it (sounds like they found it only because it was reported stolen?).
How many hotel, traffic and police cameras are there between the spot and the place you last saw it? Have they inspected the recordings on each one? Not just what they recorded after it was stolen, but before (following you into the garage?).
Man, there are too many pre-conceived conclusions in this story, and not enough facts. You need an attorney to bring some balance to dialogue with the police.

I am SOOOOO sorry to hear about your car! Scares me to think I was in Vegas yesterday and left the Aston overnight in a parking lot...
But looking positively for you there was a 2010 Speed Yelow GT3 at the Gaudin Aston/Porsche/Jag dealership!

I confirmed with two dealerships that stealing a 997 is nearly impossible, but they both said it was not totally impossible.
Not sure what that means...

They wont even let me go to the impound to say good bye!
