Default GT cars & BOSE

Ok please dont flame me for this thread on "wah wah you dont even need a radio in a GT car" or "just listen to the engine instead" etc....

BUT

If you can order BOSE in a GT2 why isnt it available as an option on a GT3?

Anybody ever tried asking for a special order to get it on a GT3?

I can live with the lack of rear seats but Im a bit worried I will not be happy with only Sound Package Plus...

my guess is that more GT3's are tracked than GT2, thus 2 has Bose and not 3. just guessing.

if you like music, then Bose isn't it. you can get some very good stuff aftermarket and a good installer can make it look as if it came straight out from factory.

Or maybe, most GT3 owners turn the radio off and rather listen to the music the motor creates?

Reminds me of another saying in audio circles: No highs, no lows, just Bose.

Adam.. I understand about sound. I love music, just as I love the sound of the engine. There is nothing better to me than listening to music OCER the roar of the engine, or when I am just putzing around. Mooty is right. you can get good aftermarket stuff. I have ripped out the cheap radio in all 4 prosches I have owned and plan to do the same when the Gt3 arrives

good luck

The Bose system was in the 997 GT2 I bought used. After living with it for awhile I wouldn't spend the money to order it. The GT2 makes enough rear tire noise that an expensive sound system is wasted. My 996 GT3 made even more noise and I suspect the new GT3 does also. I find myself leaving the radio or CD player off on my drives to and from the track. I guess the answer would be different if I only drove at low speed around town.

Doesn't the Bose system add a huge amp in the trunk, adding more weight, along with heavier speakers? I got Sound Pkg. Plus, and the sounds are just tolerable when needed. Most of the time it is off!

I'v upgraded the two door speakers and moved the tweeters to the doors but it all looks factory, there is also a small amp in the front too. Sounds sooo much better and when you see the crap that that the factory fit and came out you will upgrade too. This will sound better than the BOSE too...

Yes it does, look at the rear bumper, center @ the lower edge. There are two round stereo speakers!

What's a good upgrade? Is there any speakers that just bold on where the factory speakers are that would improve the sound without changing the head unit?

Save your money and do an aftermarket install of a very good system with an OEM faceplate that you can buy on the used market. You will be much happier with the result. Turst me!
