I don’t think anyone in the US got a PTS GT3. I don’t think green or orange count as PTS, these where offered with an upcharge, basically special colors, PTS = colors not listed.

Do a search, there are a bunch pictures of Shane’s car, beautiful!

Here's one:

Well I guess Signal Yellow could be a "special color" order, hopefully my dealer will work with me.

The 3+ month delay would be a good thing because I plan on euro delivery so I might see it in the early spring of 2010.

What's really interesting about this picture is not so much the beautiful colour of the GT3, but the fact that the sun is shining in Northern Ireland!

It is a lovely looking car, however.

Sorry if it's a dumb question but what is euro delivery?

You pay about $5,000 extra and you can pick up your new car in Zuffenhausen, drive it as long as you want, drop it off again and fly home.

About one to two months later your car arrives at your local dealer.

I am planning on doing it with every new Porsche I order but then always decide against it because of the two to four months delay in getting your car delivered in the US. With a regular delivery the car starts moving out of the factory the day it is done. With European delivery there is padding everywhere so that should there be a strike you'll still get your car on the promissed date at the factory.

I have done it BMWs and with an F430 and a 360. But I use air freight and get the cars three days after I drop them off at the Bologna airport. That is pretty costly....

With BMWs and Mercedes you get a better price for the car. It is about 7% less for euro delivery. But it is not always available for M cars and AMG cars.

Thanks.

However, Factory collection option is not listed in the US car configurator, so it's probably not currently available.

It's available. A lot of things are not listed on the configurator on the Porsche website (like all the deviated stiching and leather color options for example).

I think the insurance included in the package expires after 2 weeks.

yea but you can increase it to a month easily.

You'll be broke from gas alone. When i did it i drove from Munich (BMW) the requisite 1000 mi for break in and hit the Ring I went through like 100 Euros/hr of fuel. Sustained 175 on the autobahn will do that.

I know I'm in for an uphill climb but Shane has a beautiful Paint to Sample GT3 and Larry has taken European delivery on his GT3....
