Default Paint to Sample GT3?

Has Porsche ever offered "Paint to Sample" on a GT3 (or GT2)?

I think they did, I saw an Orange 996 GT2 parked at Porsche Motorsport today across from GMG on S. Shannon St.

White was considered a "paint to sample" $4,315 up-charge on the RS.

Yes, Carrara white was standard but Grand prix white ( from 73 RS) was paint to sample. Right?

No, my car is Carrara White, not grand prix white.

Did you order the car in Carrara White?

I think "paint to sample" means just that, ie., a custom, non-standard color.

The 08 order guide for the GT3 lists both metallic and non-metallic PTS.

I pressed hard but was specifically told by my dealer that paint-to-sample, custom color on the 997 GT3 was not possible because of the way the cars were produced on the GT3 assembly line. I ended up with GT Silver, a special color (like the white, I think) but not paint-to-sample.

Yes, I ordered my car, I wanted white it is listed on the Window Sticker as Carrara White with a charge of $4,315. When the RS's first came out white was not an option until the later 2007 cars and then 2008 models. What color are you interested in ordering.

If I can, color code 114 from the 70's (Signal Yellow). I'll wait the 6 months if I have to.

The 08 GT3 order guide allows paint to sample.

For the RS (only), Carrera White was shown as a "special color" but was priced the same as paint to sample ($4,315), orange and green were "special colors" @$3,140, black was free and Arctic was $690; it doesn't look like other colors or paint to sample was an option for RS's.

I would guess the 2010 GT3's will allow paint to sample (and I'm thinking about ordering one with paint to sample).

I am flirting with the idea of ordering one in Signal Red (356 color, same as I plan to paint my 356).

Signal Yellow and Signal Red (not my cars):

It was possible with the '08 GT3 models here. There's an Orange GT3 running around here that was PTS ordered.
