From experience I can say that the new buckets seats are way more comfortable then the old 996 ones as I have a 996 GT3 with factory buckets seats covered in fire retardent fabric.
I just came back from Germany where I accompanied my brother to pick-up his Euro spec GT3RS. We drove around southern Germany and Austria for nine days and my back wasn't sore or stiff. If I would have done the same trip in my old bucket seats I would have definately felt my back get slowly going on me.
Personally, I think these seats are worth the extra pennies.

If you remove the center console, there are brackets behind it for you to bold a plate which extends down a bit and you can weld a few nuts behind the plate and bolt the fire extinquisher to the plate. no holes to drill and does not take away floor space.

Do you know how the "back" and "middle" feet are mounted in the rear? They are covered by the carpets which looks nice. Did they weld another plate back there and bolted it on the same as the "front" feet? Or did they drill some holes where you can't see?

Then welded plates to tub of car, painted with white paint and orange overspray to match factory plates.
Then installed bar with nyloc nuts.

FYI, according to Donna Amico of PCA-
"the Porsche (GT3-RS) roll bar is not acceptable for racing. It is a “street” roll bar and Porsche never intended it to be a racing roll bar. The tubing dimensions are only part of the problem – it also fails to have the proper bracing for the main hoop. It is not marketed by Porsche as suitable for racing. You will need to install a roll bar that conforms to the rules in Appendix A."

My GT3 is almost here. I was going to install the P rear rollbar for tracking.
(Not racing), and race seats, 6 pt harness. Do you'all think it's not worth it
to install the rollbar. What do think about tracking the car with race seats/harness
w/o the rollbar?
It would be nice to preserve the rear area for storage ect. But safty comes 1st.

have the RS bar is better than having none.
with the bar, you can still store plenty of stuff in the back
imo, tracking without bar, harness and proper seat is not a good move.
