With or without the plates, one thing in these GT3s is a big improvement: there no carpet/sound deadening clue there!

So, why do people put the roll bar in? It does not appear to have any side beam protection-which is kind of nice if one is T-boned!

This whole discussion is on roll bars. When I looked at pictures on www.wreckedexotics.com/
a few years back as I tried to decide what to do with my regular 996, it looked to me that the front pillar (?) collapsed when there was just a roll bar, thus the driver would be partially crushed. So I put in a full cage. Are the GT3s and GT2s stronger there, or is the risk still as great? Or my thinking faulty?

That plate looks like it would be pretty simple to fabricate, any good race shop could do it.

So is the DAS bar a good fit for the 997 gt3? I have mine but have not installed it yet? I am planning on using 996 gt3 euro seats. Thanks

Fred,

Would you be kind enough to take a few more pictures of your bar for me, before you put it in?
Well, anytime really.

I'm particularly interested in a view side on so I can see how much of a rearward 'kick' the cross pieces have. Also, the feet where it bolts to the floor.

One more thing, those plates that are welded in to the floor with the three bolts, can you see any of that from under the car? Or do the bolts have flush mounting heads that are sandwiched between the plate and the floor?

Congratulations on a fantastic car!

Thanks

Default Awesome CoGT3!

[QUOTE=CoGT3]Finally got them!

Are those the Euro seats as well that are original for the RS? If so, cost and will the seats fit a 6'2" musclehead? Blue belts standard?
