Default RS track day one

Oil changed at 1200 miles.
Car aligned to factory recommended track settings.
Sway bar 1 from soft front and full stiff rear.
TC off, sport button on and pasm at stiff setting
Mpsc (OEM, not the real mpsc), 34F/36R
Car is dead neutral with a hint of push at turn in for tight turns and a hint of oversteer at exit of fast turns.

Without pushing it I am 1.5 seconds faster than my 996gt3.

The only negative thing I felt was that the car doesn’t FEEL as racy as 96gt3, though it is faster.

Now that's enough, John. No need to get faster.

Oh no Mooty...

Are you saying that the 997 GT3 RS is 1.5 secs faster than the 996 GT3? or are you just saying, that in all these years without a 996 GT3, you became such a better driver with the Caymen (2 of them) and the Exige, that now you can drive a slower car 1.5 secs faster than the older faster car?

LOL, kidding a side, probably a bit of both.
i "think" the new car is slightly faster.
but i last drove my 6gt3 in 2005. so i would HOPE that i improved somewhat over the years.

btw, i played with a friend of mine who's a a 997c2s x51 with pccb. i had a 220-250 lbs passenger in my RS. i cannot pull him on the straights.

That's easy,

250 lbs = 34 Hp...

You need to add 80 lbs on the driver's side to balance the car with that kind of passengers.

Dont forget to try it on normal settings as well, unless the track is supersmooth, the firm setting often costs time

mooty, why no pushing?
just getting adjusted to the set up?
so my x51 can stick w/ you as long as you have JUMBO in the passenger seat!?
is it as fun as the lotus?

i drove with pasm soft, sport exhaust button on, and TC off today. 1/2 second faster than pasm hard, but the car definitely lean/rolled more. i guess i just need to get used to that feeling.. more experiments are in order.

btw, i was told that these cars now have more rear brk bias than 996gt3? but for me, the RS nose dives a lot more than my moton'd 6gt3 (the nose dive was in both pasm hard and soft).... ??
