Default I Bought the White Flood 997 GT3RS at Copart

Yes.......
I did it. It was me.
Some think it crazy, some think it smart.
I made some videos of the experience in case anyone cares to join the ride.
Let's go !!

That is correct, well, mostly. Car ran once and I bid up to my max allowed (as per my account) which was $100k but it went past that and all I could do was watch. I was surprised to see it go up again (I figured it was non-paying buyer) so I contacted Copart to have my max allowed bid increased, which they did.
My winning bid was $111k plus they nailed me with $7700 buyer fee plus some other BS fees so the wire I sent to them was just under $119k. This is pretty much public information so I didn't see the need to put it out there. Let's not forget the $1700 for shipping plus the major PITA to get the car picked up and dealing with the people at the Long Island branch which was a nightmare. It took 3 attempts before I was finally able to get the car on its way to me. A couple of people have asked and without hesitation I gave them the number.
This was a big gamble for me. I assure you that number put a substantial dent in my bank account. But I figured that my worst case scenario was sell it and break even, best case was having a car I could definitely sell for more than I paid OR I would have my dream car for much less than I'd ever be able to buy it for out in the open market.
It was a risk, I took it and in the end I'm happy with my decision.
And being happy is what life is all about.....

Subscribed... In on following this journey.

Car looked surprisingly good for a flood car. Amazed that a simple battery swap got it running. I bet that half of those flashy flashy errors are just residual from the low voltage and will clear without returning.

(Funny part of video at 10:15 mark; explaining to the RL nitwits he knows what an immobilizer is. )

Great find and such good luck. I'd change that oil before I drove it though.

You didn't even drain the fluids or looked inside the motor if there's water?

Thanks to all for the encouragement. Yes, I did take a big leap of faith here. And I assure you the cost of the car did put a huge dent in my bank account. But I figured it was a safe buy. If I sold this car, I would have some profit. If I keep it, I will sell the red car first, and possibly something else to recoup the cost. But with the prices going as crazy as they have I felt safe enough to make the jump.
I think I have enough footage for 5 videos, possibly 6 if I do an after the fact follow up type video. Let me know if you guys want to see that. I never made videos before so it's all new to me. And doing it with my phone is also a challenge which is why some of it comes out sideways. I've never used video editing software either so the learning curve is pretty steep, at least with the one I'm using (DaVinci Resolve).
I thought about the oil, but according to carfax the car had just had the oil, trans oil and brake fluid flush right before it went for a swim. The water doesn't seem to have gone very high so I don't thing there was any intrusion in the motor and transmission. The only place I can see a water level was on the frunk carpet and it was only wet at the bottom. But I will change it anyway for piece of mind.
I'll work on putting together the other videos in the next day or two, at least the next one. Crazy how time consuming it is.
