Need to get your car into a beauty pageant. From salvage to concours, now that sounds like great documentary film title.

Very cool. I watched a few videos, and what a turnaround.

Been quite on this one lately. Not much to report. Put over 1000 miles on it so far with zero problems.
Here is a video on my steering wheel swap:

Now that is what a steering wheel should look like!

Nice vid and great car. You really have a gem there. FWIW, I like the Porsche emblem horn and the white shifter. As you already mentioned, it's easy for you to swap and should ultimately be what excites you.

Good luck selling the red car. I may have missed the videos on that one, other than the for sale ad. Is it your plan to take that all the way back to stock? Given your experience and transparency, surprised it hasn't found a home with someone who wants to enjoy it as much as you have.

Thanks for sharing!

Awesome thread. Thanks for creating and sharing the journey. Happy that it's all working out. Calculated risk paid off! Beautiful car.

Hi, Drola, I just ordered a MOMO Mod. 7 for my '07 GT3 and I have a question.....What kind of tool did you use for removing the original steering wheel? I tried to find something last night online with no luck.

This will be my third Mod.7 but those were used on air-cooled 911's. I appreciate your help!

I used a torx screwdriver to push the clip that holds the airbag in place and then one of the triple square bits like Wonderdan shows to remove the bolt that holds the wheel in place. Then just pull the wheel back towards you and it should just slide out. Make sure it stays in the upright position so when you put the new one it is also upright.
