Got my car back today! Been a long two weeks. Pinned the coolant lines, fresh brakes, cam bolts checked, new water pumper, new clutch/flywheel etc, plugs, belt, headlight error coding, new side skirt, and a clean bill of health. I was talking to the shop there were able to get GT3 spark plugs from the dealer. Which is interesting I know there is a lot of talk about the bosch plug being NLA. Cant wait to get the RS out on track. Once the shop shares some more photos with me of the engine out and the cam bolts Ill share here as well. I also got some vanity valve stem caps.

Thanks to the 997 sub forums I’ve acquired some LEDS that work in the side marker without triggering a error message.

Not sure if you ever got the answer to this, but when you insert the pump do it upside down. I know it sounds a little silly, but it works and it'll get you a full tank every time.

Cheers and congrats ion the new whip!

Thanks I was still nervous about leaving it upside and walking away from the vehicle!

There is a $10 oem plastic ring that fixes the gas fillup problem, I will have to look and see if I can find the part#

edit:
I am sure your local dealer will know what it is, I cannot find the part# but here it is at suncoast

Holy cow, I live with that issue for 10 years on my white GT3. Never knew the fix was that easy. Thought is wa s just a quirk of the 997. My new car doesn't do that at all. I actually think it already has that piece on it. Have to travel to the garage to confirm.

I've bought that ring. Im confused if you're suppose to leave the ring on full time or just use it during fill up? when I attempted to leave it tighting the gas cap didnt feel right.

I had an extra rightside dynamic headlight so decided to take apart my first headlight ever. Pop it into the oven @ 240F for 20 minutes then swear and struggle for 20 minutes and voila!

I plan on painting the internals(photo 2 above) black and then mock it up as I've never seen a blacked out 997.2 dynamic headlight.

Update on the blacking out of the dynamic headlights
Sanded down and first coat applied. Should have them finished up early next week after a few more coats.

Headlight Blackout Complete. I've basically back dated the option of PDLS+ in black to the 997.2. Im not sure I love it. It doesnt flow as nice as the 991.2 PDLS+ in black. I believe it has to do with the outer silver rings on the 997 dynamic headlights. Would need to do the speedster

It’s meant to be left in place all the time, make sure the notched edge is facing up and push it all the way down to avoid interfering with the gas cap.

for those asking about the part number it’s 997-201-944-00 (EVR Phase II fuel filler ring)

I guess by speedster you mean the rings. Not a bad idea as you cold do them in either black or white. Would be a better choice than having three different colors in that area.

Exactly! I've ordered the ki studios black out trim It's much cheaper for this test unit. If I like it I could buy the real deal.

Another interesting part of the cosmetic equation. Is the speedster DRL/turn signals. They have black housing and smoked thus match better with a black trimmed headlight.
