Update for other 997 GT owners who may be interested. Blacked out headlight with blacked out ring. Similar to the 911 sportclassic/speedster headlights but blacked out internals. I think it needs matching speedster/sportclassic DRLS. Im not sold on going full black out on my white car. Maybe if I was running black accents. On colored cars I think it would look better.

I think you're right about keeping it lighter given you have red accents instead of all black.

Got the NMAuto CarPlay unit installed by a professional here in Seattle. Car now has CarPlay and reverse camera. Very happy with the results.

Where did they put the rear camera? Any pics of that?

Had the same system in my GT4. Really makes a big difference. Fully intend on doing it in my GT3 as well.

Did the installer use the toggle switch that came with the kit?

I soldered the connection to my SAT button for an extra clean install.

Long info press brings you into Carplay/NMAuto interface
Uses the Canbus to trigger reverse camera when the car is in reverse gear.

I believe this is totally stock install to the NMAuto instructions. So your install was SAT button to go into Carplay/NMAuto?

Interesting.

It’s possible that it’s slightly different on the base radio of the GT4 now that I think about it. That integration is definitely nice.

I believe they are different as 981 GT4 is PCM 3.1 vs 997.2 GT3 is PCM 3.0. NMAuto sells kits for a few different version of PCM.

First track day with the RS. fun morning as I got acclimated with car. Very enjoyable machine to drive on track. Unfortunately, one of large coolant hose popped out and ended my day early and a tow truck ride back into town. Looks to be an easy fix which I am grateful for and hopefully get back out at the track soon.
