Damn - seems like a quick turnaround, nice! How long did the entire build take?

The engine build took about eight weeks. Installation and tuning was about one week.

I’m going to drive it this weekend and get some video so I can share how insane this thing sounds.

I’m on my second weekend enjoying this beast. And it is a beast! The character of the engine has changed. It has such a wide power band. It’s already making serious torque at 3500rpm, so there’s strong thrust anywhere in a 5000rpm range. The rear end feels much more mobile now. It doesn’t take a lot of throttle or revs to make the tail wiggle coming off low speed corners. Fun!

As you would guess, acceleration feels much more savage. A factor in the experience is the sound. I pointed the GoPro straight at the exhaust tips:

What did you do about camshafts? How do you feel the engine revs with the heavier steel rods?

I'm still running stock cams. There's probably decent top end to be gained with more aggressive cams, but I'm very happy with the torque characteristics on the stock cams.

The engine revs much more freely. I have a base 7.2 GT3, so my reference is how it used to rev with the stock dual mass flywheel.

Nice, thanks for feedback on the major mod. I've got a mere 4.0 build, either way it's a forever car. The added power makes an already great car awesome

Glad you are happy with your end result. I went with new Camshafts to make full use of the extra displacement.

I couldn't see the reasoning to put heavier steel rods back in an engine that had lighter Titanium rods. Why did you not used the stock Titanium Rods?
